In point form. I had 2 of these items. Number one did not work so I had to send it to repairs .. after 30 days which I was without a DVD plater replacement managed to come back from china.

The unit I have not is also terrible .. and I am not going to both to exchange it but to throw it out and never trust RiTech again... these are the points:

1. The remote does not work properly with distance signal strength goes to 0. On the angle the remote does not work at all!

2. The DVD is falling apart.. parts qualities are terrible. The LED cover fell off the 1st week for example.

3. The DVD often freezes .. without notification, when you waitch DVD or VCD. In order to unfreeze you've got to restart.

4. Avi is not played properly. Depends on the player's "mood" one time you can play everything the other can not.

5. Constant picture corruption even with out of the box DVD's.

6. When you forward it the picture freezes too .. no continuous playback ..

7. The menu is misspelled Spanish is spelled Spanisch.

8. The menu option password is not known and not needed ?? has no effect on anything ? and when trying to change it it asks for a confirmation ?? what password ?? what for?

9. Pointless menu options, like which language will DVD be played on ?? does it really matter?

10. Very stiff buttons, when you decide to press one of these DVD player slides back because you need that strong of a force to push buttons (design fault??)

11. Names in the file menu are all mangled when you try to display picture CD.

12. When you accidently choose PAL the player goes into an infinite loop and goes blank.

13. Sound menu has no effect on the sound output.

14. Multisession CD's dont work properly..

and lots of other stuff ..

so DONT BUY THIS PLAYER! go for something else ..!

Good product overall. For some reason there is no microhones sound while connected through home theater. For Karaoke function I had to connect it to my TV directly. Microphones sound terrible (no, my voice is not an issue here :)).

Since I purchased it primarily for multiregion function, I am giving it four stars. I would not rate it this high if I needed it for Karaoke.

I also have one of these, and I must say that this player is great for the price. In a rebuttal to the first gentleman's comments, I must say that at least half of the problems he listed may not necessarily be the responsibility of the player. Furthermore, I have found that you simply cannot find a better DVD/CDG/VCD player for the money. I have not had a single problem with this player, so I guess the only complaint I have is that the mics are not so hot. But, they work, and after a few drink I tend to not really care much about audio fidelity anyways.

So, FWIW, it is what it is. It's a cheap player that does everything. If you are a person trying to use it professionally, then you need to reconsider your purchasing habits. But for something to act as an all in one DVD player for your basement, it does the job.
