Product Description

This set of two CAT5 Cable Splitters can be used, one at each end of a CAT5e cable, to carry one old fashioned analog telephone signal and one Ethernet signal by the same single CAT5e Cable. Such CAT5e cable splitters are especially useful for carrying Ethernet signal on an existing CAT5e cable in a house or building that was originally laid out for carrying telephone signals. As the result, you can set up the Ethernet LAN quickly and easily without laying out a new set of network cables, saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars from otherwise new cabling costs. The diagram above is a typical application of the CAT5 splitters for carrying both telephone signals and Ethernet signals by the same set of CAT5 cables in a house. The CAT5e splitters we sell are tested to work normally for Ethernet signals at 100Mbps without any noticeable interference from the shared telephone signals. At the same time, the telephone signals are tested crystal clear without any noticeable interference or noise from the shared Ethernet signals.

works fine for what I needed. Some other person left a negative review about the adapter not having a phone jack. He lies. The adapter does have RJ45 jacks. The RJ45 will accept either RJ11 or RJ45, if he had taken the 3 seconds needed to try it he's see that it works. What a poop face! Any way it works perfectly for what I needed. I run a gigabit network and read somewhere that this slows the connected devise to 10/100, maybe it does but I can't detect it. Much cheaper and simpler than running a separate phone line.

When we remodeled our family room, I installed 2 CAT5e cables from a network patch booth (closet) to the AV rack location where all networked AV devices and a cable modem sit. Our firewall/router sit in the upstairs and this is why I needed two network cables, one for the cable modem to the firewall (WAN), the other for the firewall to the AV devices (LAN).

Later when we installed a DirecTV DVR, I found it would accept a phone line connection to display caller ID on the screen. But we did not have a phone jack near the AV rack. I considered a possibility to remove floor trims to install more cables, which of course would be the last thing to do.

I found this product and installed one in the network patch booth to combine a network connection and a phone connection and another behind the AV rack to split the connections. Voila! My daughter was the first to notice the caller ID display and the display made her say "Cool!"

An ignorant reviewer complains there's no RJ11 connector. Yes, that's true. All connectors are physically RJ45, but an RJ11 plug fits in an RJ45 jack, so there's no problem and this actually leaves some enhancement room. I wish it had clear "NETWORK" and "PHONE" markings instead of "A" and "B," though the difference is obvious if you look at the spring contacts. I also wish the RJ11 side supported two pairs of single lines for even more aggressive use of the existing wiring.

I needed a phone line in my study. I had a CAT5e run for the computer. I did not mind that the computer would not be able to run 1gbps. This kit allowed me to do what I needed!

If everything is punched down correctly this device works perfectly. The Rj 11 plug locks in to Rj 45 outlet fine.

Often the simple things are the best and this is no exception! Works as described and eliminated the need to run phone cable from my house to detached garage. Those extra wire pairs in the CAT6 cable were being wasted until I found this. Highly recommend!

I needed to put a phone in the same room I already had cat6 cable running to a 100baseT device. This allowed me to piggy back the phone over the ethernet very easily. Using this limits the cable to 100BaseT (most non-computer devices i.e. DVR's fit into this category).

Although relatively more expensive than other similar products, this one works. The finish begins to tell the story and the performance was flawless.

I appreciate a vendor who subscribes to excellence and this one does in all respects.
