Product Description

Product Description

The 3200 dpi Pro-Optic R2 Sensor plays in the Champions' league of optical sersor, offering lag-free precision. We increased maximum speed to 130 inches per second and raised maximum acceleration to 30G. And like the curerrent generation of ROCCAT gaming mice. the polling rate clocks in at an unprecedented 1000Hz.

From the Manufacturer

Armed with the latest proven ROCCAT technological innovations, the successor to the ROCCAT Kova is equipped to the teeth. The new ROCCAT Kova[+] unites powerful technology with intelligent software and an advanced V-shaped design for left or right-handed use.

Lag-Free Precision

The 3200dpi Pro-Optic R2 Gaming Sensor offers lag-free precision. Maximum speed was increased to 130 inches per second and raised maximum acceleration to 30G. And like the current generation of ROCCAT gaming mice, the polling rate clocks in at 1000Hz.

ROCCAT Driver

The Kova[+] now also comes with a feature-rich driver package, allowing precise adjustment of the sensitivity and dpi settings. All seven buttons plus the mouse wheel can be assigned a multitude of functions and custom macros, as well as predefined ROCCAT presets. The Creating Game Profiles option makes things easier when starting a game, as the Game Profiles function automatically loads settings specific to the particular game during start-up.

Easy Shift Button

The Easy-Shift[+] button doesn't just give you access to seven mouse buttons plus the mouse wheel--you also get access to 16 additional functions at the touch of a button. The Easy-Shift[+] button is similar to the shift key on a keyboard. If you hold down the Easy-Shift[+] button while pressing one of the other standard mouse buttons, you can program a second function (dual-assignment).

V-Shaped for Left- or Right-Handed Use

The Kova[+] sits nicely in both the left and right hand. Thanks to a slightly raised ridge on the upper casing, you can control the Kova[+] with maximum precision. The Griptech side areas extend all the way to the top of the Kova[+], letting you hold the mouse securely when lifting it. In addition, the new Soft-Touch Coating offers amazing grip, complementing the non-slip performance of the familiar solid rubber Griptech side areas.

Sound Feedback

The Kova[+] also features Sound Feedback. The mouse informs you of any changes to the dpi, profile, or sensitivity settings by reading them aloud. This means there are no additional displays to distract you from gameplay, so your full attention can remain on screen.

Multi-Color Light System

A multicolor LED system allows the mouse to light up in seven different colors. The mouse can be further personalized with color rotation and other lighting effects using the driver. You can even assign colors to profiles, so when you switch profiles the color changes, too.

ROCCAT Smart Desktop Management System

As part of the ROCCAT Smart Desktop Management System (SDMS), the Kova[+] Max Performance Gaming Mouse fits seamlessly into the angular, stealth-look of the series. SDMS has become a byword for performance-focused gaming with its series of perfectly-coordinated products that offer optimum handling and improved ergonomics.

Its a great mouse, its looks good, feels awesome, and is awesome.

The side buttons on your ring/pinky side are too awkward and a bit hard to press.

It's a perfect fit for my hand and playstyle, small and fingertip.

This is an amazing mouse for the money. It looks like a lambo + stealth bomber, and has customizable lights that you can pick in the driver program. Keep in mind that this new Plus [+] edition works much better with drivers installed because you can assign 2 functions to every single button/scroll.
I would say the main competitor to this would be the Razer Deathadder, but it doesn't even come close. The Kova [+] has a rubberized "griptech" construction, so it's light, doesn't attract finger prints, and has more buttons. It also feels very nice
I'm not a hardcore gamer, but this mouse has profiles I can set for media controls, MMO's, and RTS. The scroll wheel is also wide and rubberized, which gives a nice feel and feedback for accurate scrolling.

Hardware and ergonomic-wise, this is one of the nicest mice I've used, and I've owned several mid-range "gamer" mouses. It's smooth and very responsive, fits comfortably in my medium-sized hand, and it feels nice and sturdy with the rubberized grip. The shape allows my thumb to rest on the side of the mouse. Buttons are nice and firm, and the wheel has lots of control with the rubberized coating. The only issue is that, where I rest my pinkie, I sometimes accidentally hit the lower button on that side (I'm using this left-handed, but I suspect it would be same for right-handled). A little more adjusting from old mouse and I suspect this will stop.

The configuration software works well enough, with one caveat I'll get to. I especially like that it supports profiles and macros and that all the buttons are configurable. Haven't really utilized the EasyShift[+] too much yet, but I do like it for the couple things I have mapped; I for sure am for doubling up the button functions more than having a crazy number of buttons on the mouse.

The lights are nice without being too bright; being able to choose from 7 different ones is a nice touch. the only one I'd complain about is the orange, which is really green. For some reason, I really like the two lights on the back of the mouse, reminds me of exhaust ports on a spaceship :D.

The only issue, and it's fairly minor, but enough to dock a star for it, is that the software loses some settings at random. Not all, but definitely some, including keys mapped to buttons and some of the "advanced" settings. The most annoying one is the volume setting for the announcer. At default, this is *way* too loud -- by far the loudest I've ever heard for something like this. Even turned way down, it's kind of annoyingly loud, so I turn it off, but then that gets lost, and I'm jumping out of my chair when I'm lining up some shot and this guy yells "400 DPI!" into my ear...

Really good mouse for claw grip type of gamers.
Nice variety of led colors and 7 buttons. (really there are only 4 but one of them is a shift button)
Comfortable for small and big hands alike.
Nice dpi speed.

The only flaw (and it is a major one), is that there is glue leaking out of the thumb rest pad. And this not only happened to me but a lot of people too. I wipe it out, but it keeps leaking. I have had other "mice" and this is the first one that have done that.
I have use the mouse for almost a year, but I don't know if Roccat can change it for another one since I really like the mouse, but hate to play games with a sticky thumb.

Having been a die hard fan of Razer mice for the last 7 or 8 years I had grown tired of how they seem to have been cutting corners with materials and QC. So far I am very please with the feel of the Kova[+] and the EasyShift[+] has been damn useful and really easy to learn/get used to.

I honestly cannot say anything negative about this mouse. It works fantastically.

I am a professional gamer, and have gone through countless mice looking for the right one. There's a lot that goes into picking the right mouse, and while this might not be perfect for everyone, it works great for me, and has been my go-to for the past month.

What's good about it? For one, the built-in memory means I can take this mouse with me to any computer and the settings will be EXACTLY the same wherever I go, down to the button macros. This is a fantastic functionality that appears on many high-end mice but given the cost of this mouse, sets it head and shoulders above anything else in its price range.

The sensor is fantastic and this tracks very well. No acceleration. Many, many, MANY settings that you can adjust to get the mouse just right. LED color settings, a cool "breathing" function so you know the mouse is working. The buttons are perfectly placed. I often find the side buttons on mice are too high-up on the mouse, so you have to move your thumb to operate the forward-side button. This is not the case here. I can consistently click either side button just by rocking my thumb, and that has made a real, competitive difference.

It's ambidextrous, so lefties will find this useful as well. All side buttons can be macro'ed differently. The clicks are very mechanical and have low travel. It feels good to have a quality mouse. The scroll wheel has good resistance and a positive 'click' into each step. The mouse has a low lift-off which is great, and it slides very well on a slick fabric mousepad (I use a Sentey Medium pad)

If there were any cons, it would be the lack of a side-to-side for the mouse wheel.
