5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD Ever!
My husband has been a Petra fan forever. I listened to some of their old tapes and wasn't sure if I liked them so well. I bought him this CD, not knowing any of the songs. It reminds me of my high school days when I used to listen to Def Leppard and Skid Row. I never knew Christian music could be so awesome. This is my all-time favorite CD (including all types of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Where are Unseen Power and Wake Up Call???
Nothing off of Unseen Power? Come on, the songs "Dance", "Destiny" and "Hey World" are some of the best songs they ever did! And Nothing from Wake Up Call either. I see a pattern here. No John Schlitt music. He was a great big part of Petra and his work should be represented here also. Since it isn't, I will only give this compilation of songs 3 stars. That is like...

It reminds me of my high school days when I used to listen to Def Leppard and Skid Row. I never knew Christian music could be so awesome. This is my all-time favorite CD (including all types of music). My husband is a youth director now and played it for the kids at church. They love it. We love it. Our friends love it--even those that aren't Christians. WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY (and then some)!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth your money unless you already own "Petra Means Rock", March 15, 2002

The only two songs on "Rock Block" that are NOT on "Petra Means Rock" are the medley and Chameleon. I usually skip medleys anyway and just get to the real songs. But this is great Petra music, and either CD would definitely be worth your money!

5.0 out of 5 stars Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, October 3, 1999

This review is from: THE ROCK BLOCK (Audio CD)
Sheesh!!!!!!!!!! Great cd, if you don't feel like buying every cd, and listening to every rock song, this is basically all their hits piled into a single cd!!! And if you like to hear them all at once, you got the medley. Great cd, if you're trying to be adventurous with your style of music and you're looking for something new. I have a question though. My cd's list is: 1.Rock Block 2.Angel of Light 3.Counsel of the Holy 4.Not By Sight 5.Shakin the House 6.Second Wind 7.Hit You Where You Live 8.He came... 9.Judas' Kiss 10.Stand Up 11.Killing My Old Man 12.All Fired Up 13.Get On Your Knees... 14.Chameleon 15.God Gave Rock and Roll to You I don't if this "Amazon copy" is a bootleg or what, but the label on mine is "StarSong".

Gonna wear this tape and c.d out! I have been a full-on, hard-core petra fan since mid 80s.Got all thier stuff, all I can possibly get hold of from New Zealand and Australia. ON FIRE! is an all time favorite. If God actually had / has a computer print out / record of all the songs I play and sing, up in heaven, I will not be surprised to see the overwhelming percent of PETRA, PETRA, PETRA TO THE AIRWAVES there would be. I do not know exactly where I might be in my Christian walk without Petras ministry. My mere human words could not describe what Petra means to me. Seriously... your message and music have just gripped my heart, I LOVE YA GUYS! '' Hes been in my shoes " actually influenced me NOT to commit suicide in 1994 when I could not find a good enuugh reason to live. Those words... oh they made me just cry a million tears. " THANK YOU JESUS ! " To all you PETRA fans out there, I quote, " PETRA... enuogh said, enjoy !!! " I am: Daniel Smolenski. 4 Hollands Road, Nowra, N.S.W. 2541 Australia.

These are the hits, not the terrible ballads on their 2000 release. I highly recommend this.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where are Unseen Power and Wake Up Call???, February 20, 2011

That is like KISS doing a reunion tour with the original members and not playing any of their 80's music. I was there and couldn't get into the music. Same thing here, I want to hear John Schlitt, as well as Greg.

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay, I'm gonna be the pin that pops your balloon., November 25, 2000

Unless you have no Petra albums at all or unless you just got to have "Rock Block", then ignore this review. It will not be positive.

As much as I love Petra, I'm gonna have to be the neighborhood cynic on this CD. It basically is a repackaged "Petra Means Rock" CD (1989). The only difference is the "mega-hit" medley (track 1) where several Petra songs are fused together to make a "new" song.

Don't blame Petra. They do not own their music. Blame the music industry who has all the copyrights. Star Song Records is the entity who re-released dozens of Petra songs with shiney new wrappings. This is only one of several "new" Petra CD's.

If you have been paying attention, Star Song is also trying similar marketing schemes with other artists such as Twila Paris and Whiteheart. Buyer beware ... unless you just got to have this one.

How could they have forgotten "Godpleaser" (off the CD Not of this World)? That was the highlight of their 1984 tour!
