4.0 out of 5 stars Great airplane read!
Rogue Trident is a technothriller in the style of Tom Clancy. And like "Red October", Hindinger's first book puts you in a rogue nuclear missile sub.

The action moves along quickly, and the plot twists will get your attention. I was wondering up to the end how he would tie up all the loose ends.

Sure, the characters could use a little more...

3.0 out of 5 stars It was an OK book but pretty standard read throughout.
No spoilers

To give a quick review, Rogue Trident is a decent book, but it's not as great as these other reviews make it out to be. It's a pretty short read, so there's not too much filler or useless plot background like some stories have, which is obviously a good thing, but my problem with it is that it wasn't as thrilling of a thriller as I was hoping for...

Sure, the characters could use a little more development, but that's not why you read this kind of book anyway, right?

This book will keep your attention from beginning to end with a plot that keeps you guessing from a writer who obviously knows his stuff. I finished the whole thing in one sitting because I didn't want to put it down. Now I'm just waiting for the sequel...

To give a quick review, Rogue Trident is a decent book, but it's not as great as these other reviews make it out to be. It's a pretty short read, so there's not too much filler or useless plot background like some stories have, which is obviously a good thing, but my problem with it is that it wasn't as thrilling of a thriller as I was hoping for. Nothing to spectacular really happens and I often found my mind wandering while reading it because I wasn't all that thrilled with the main character or what was happening to him.

Basically, if you like submarines then you should read this book because not only is it short so you won't spend too much time on it, but also it's filled with an abundance of technical descriptions of marine life/equipment that I'm sure submariners and the like salivate over. If you want a really good submarine that actually thrills, check out Goliath by Steve Alten.
