Laswell is Phatness Personified,
By Groovehead (Kayatown) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ROIR Dub Sessions (Audio CD)
The first thing I heard from Bill Laswell was his work with Buckethead on the album Colma. I just really liked the ambient bass guitar sound that he creates. The mixture of dub reggae with awesome soundscape-creating vocals and horns on this album is well worth a listen for anyone who likes music. If you listen to anything from Bob Marley to Pink Floyd, or if you just like to chill out to some really tight grooves, this is the album for you.

This was my first shot at trying to find dub music that I like. I found this cd to be very repetitive and FAR from organic sounding. The tracks are uncreative and long. I wanted more of a reggae sound and this just sounds more like lounge trip hop.
