A LUCKY HUMAN--Traveling the Universe aboard a space cruise ship may be the hottest trend, but a young man may be exchanging his life for this privilege.

TOP 100 PAID EBOOK BESTSELLER IN HORROR OCCULT

"It's in-your-face horror. Her bad guys are the most disgusting, evil, and terrifying characters that you'll ever NOT want to meet." Keith Weaver, FearDex.com

"Think of the phrase 'roses are red.' Chances are that trite declarations and gestures of love come to mind. Carrie Green's short story collection, however, is far from romantic trifle as you can get. These three stories explore the darker side of mankind, with selfishness and deception among Green's main themes." HorrorNews.Net

"Green shows that she has an appreciation and understanding of a variety of horror types. More importantly, she proves that she is capable of delivering scares in each of them." Nicholas Strange, StrangeAmusements.com

"A good short story leaves a great deal unsaid, but next to nothing unspoken. Carrie Green's short story collection does that well, very well, and remarkably well. I say this because I quite enjoyed the book." W.J. Rosser, RossersRegularReads.Blogspot.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Roses Are Red April 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Roses are Red.
Violets are Blue.
The first was amazing.
The second was too.

I was fortunate enough to download this on a free day and am very glad I took a chance. Roses are Red is an impressive trilogy of short stories that grab you from the start and keep you hooked to the very end.

All of the stories provide terrific intrigue and fascinating characters, all of who are fully rounded and perform realistically in manner and description. The plots, both clever and original, evolve nicely at an excellent page and keep the reader in a ready state of anticipation throughout.

The stories are worth reading from the plots alone, but what makes the difference is the writing style. Carrie Green presents a gripping narrative that in my opinion is as enthralling as any other in the genre.

Look forward to the next one

5.0 out of 5 stars True horror to keep an eye out for! October 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
ROSES ARE RED is the first of three books, VIOLETS ARE BLUE and SUGAR IS SWEET, that introduce the new horror writer Carrie Green. In ROSES, I was struck by how all her stories start in the middle of the action and drag you kicking and screaming to the end. It's in-your-face horror. Her bad guys are the most disgusting, evil, and terrifying characters that you'll ever NOT want to meet.

Allan, in a Long Distance Relationship, is a real piece of work. Mentally unbalanced is one way to describe him. I was surprised and satisfied with the twisted ending for that story. Carrie is a real sick puppy, but I look for that in my horror writers. The second story, A Lucky Human, was my favorite of the three. It had a cool, retro Science Fiction vibe to it. A really fun read.

The author has a talent for description which came across especially in her third story, Cash Only. I could envision the action like I was watching a movie. I can't wait until her full length novel is published in 2012. Stephen King, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, watch out! There's new blood in the horror genre and Carrie Green is wielding a super sharp knife.

This was my first read of Carrie Green's work and I was pleasantly surprised. The stories were unusual, gritty, and most of all good! I definitely want to read more of this author. More About the Author

Carrie Green "a powerful new voice in horror and suspense" will have her first novel, 'Walk a Lonely Street,' published by McMullin Press in 2012. Set in Chicago, a jazz nightclub owner is found dead in the parking lot with a bullet to the brain. Police have written it off as a suicide, but his wife and best buddy think that it's a murder and they embark on their own investigation. Carrie is excited to build her audience, in the meantime, with the 'Roses are Red,' 'Violets are Blue,' and 'Sugar is Sweet,' trilogy of short stories and a novella being released as eBooks for a limited time. Born and raised in Chicago, Carrie now lives with her husband in the northern suburbs of the city.
