5.0 out of 5 stars Finally one that fits the ear without causing pain!
Much better than the iPhone buds that come with the phone. Painless, in the ear. Good sound and not >$100. I did not want to pay more than $100 for the iPhone.

Great earbuds with mic for iPhone. Awesome alternative to the ones that come packaged with the phone. Unfortunately, like almost all earbuds, after six months or so, you only get sound in one ear. And then you find yourself on the subway, fiddling with the wire, because sometimes if you do that, you get sound in both ears for a few seconds, and you experience a flicker of...

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally, small phones for small ears!, December 23, 2009
This review is from: ROXY by JBL Reference 250 In-Ear Headphone w/ Microphone - Orange/Pink (Electronics)
I have small ears (well, little ear canals), which means that most in-ear type headphones are either too big, or hurt like crazy when I try to use them. These are the tiniest little earbuds I've ever seen, and they fit quite comfortably. Though not specifically meant for sound isolation, they do a pretty good job. The fact that they have the mic and pause button for iPhones makes them a really good choice. Nice sound, as well.

The only drawbacks are that the mic is a bit close to the face, and it doesn't have that little adjuster for closing the gap between the lines from the two sides.

GUYS - Don't be put off by the "for Women" description. If you're worried about looking girly, don't - the blue/green ones look anything made by Skullcandy, and even the orange/pink ones are pretty unisex.

I hate the ear phones that came with my iPhone. They are huge and bother my ears. I wanted something with softer/smaller earbuds and a microphone to use with the phone, and I didn't want to spend a fortune. These work great! They fit well so I can keep the volume lower and external noise is blocked out. They're not Bose, but they definitely do the trick. What I would absolutely love is volume control by the microphone, but I haven't seen any with both options. I like the color choices and case it comes with as well.

The iPhone earbuds that came with my phone kept falling out of my ears - one size fits all does not work for me. I saw several brands on the Apple Store site and most of them were way too expensive except for these. I purchased these earphones because they are in-ear and they also come with a microphone that allows me to answer/hang up without having dig around for my phone -- very convenient.

I love the color and the case that came with them. They are so great and the sound is so good. You can hear the base in the songs and everything is clear, not static. Very good product!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with purchase! I would buy them again!, November 7, 2011

Before I bought the Roxy JBL earbuds, I did hours of research online for days, read countless reviews and emailed questions to companys about there portable stereo headphones for both wired and Bluetooth. I have to say, these earbuds (made for IPhone related devices) are a great buy. Brand new in the box, I paid $20.00 total on Ebay and they were well worth it. They sound great, have a cute zipper storage case, are very comfortable for my small ears and sooo cute. I bought 2 adapters online so I can use these earbud headphones with my Blackberry Torch 9850 smartphone and my Sony Ericsson MW600 Hi-Fi stereo bluetooth, I also bought the matching, larger, JBL Roxy Reference 430 Headphones (mainly for home use) and I love them also. So in conclusion and after all my research findings online, I do not regret buying these earbuds(or any of the other items I mentioned) and I would buy these earbuds again.

4.0 out of 5 stars the prettier twin of apple's earphones, November 18, 2009

This review is from: ROXY by JBL Reference 250 In-Ear Headphone w/ Microphone - Orange/Pink (Electronics)
i got these as a replacement for my iphone's broken stock earphones with mic. what i liked about it was the item's attractive design and colors. it also comes with a handy case to keep the earphones in. the pair also comes with 2 size options for the in-ear buds and i must say that i'm extremely satisfied with how they fit. unlike the stock earphones (which tend to hurt after wearing them for a long time), these roxy JBL's do not come off and they're very comfortable to wear. outside noise is effectively blocked as well so I can definitely hear my music much better.

the sound quality however, is pretty average. in fact, it sounds almost exactly like the stock earphones of apple. i was pretty bummed about this cause i was hoping that a JBL pair would sound way better. also, i was pretty disappointed in seeing that up close the design quality and material of these roxy earphones are quite similar to that of apple's headset. in short, the wires are still pretty thin and flimsy.

bottome line: if you're looking for a replacement for your apple headset, this would be a good choice. sound quality and structure wise, they're almost identical. the only thing that makes it a bit better than apple's stock pair is the fact that these JBL's are more attractive and their smart in-ear design.

for the audiophiles: don't expect superb sound quality; you obviously need to pay WAY more if that's what you're after.

Great earbuds with mic for iPhone. Awesome alternative to the ones that come packaged with the phone. Unfortunately, like almost all earbuds, after six months or so, you only get sound in one ear. And then you find yourself on the subway, fiddling with the wire, because sometimes if you do that, you get sound in both ears for a few seconds, and you experience a flicker of hope that you won't have to spend another $35 on earbuds. But the sound never returns to both ears, and you're back here on Amazon, buying these ones again, b/c even the much more expensive ones you tried have the same problem and you returned those, too. Sigh...

I was in need of new headphones, because my JVC Gumy headphones died after a year of use (the gray piece on the in-ear part broke/loosened off). I stopped by FYE one day, and found that these were on sale. Seeing what it had to offer, I thought, "Why not?" How many headphones can you get for $9.99 (down from its original price of $24.99) that came with a microphone as well as a pouch that could fit your iPod nano/shuffle? Not many. Very rare, in fact. I bought it immediately without hesitation.

The first time I bought it, I opened it immediately. I used it on my iPod nano. The instrumentals played with clarity. The vocals were a bit faded as though you hadn't plugged your headphones in all the way. The microphone doubled as a Play/Pause button. Even if my iPod had the Hold button on, I could still turn it off without having to go through the dull routine of pushing the Hold button to the side, and then, pressing the Play/Pause button. It was very convenient.

The trouble with the headphones was the static. Maybe it's my school's computers' problem, but every time I would use them while on campus, the audio would come out a bit staticky. Maybe the headphones were a tad bit sensitive. Or maybe they were damaged. I had accidentally forgotten that I had them with me one day, so they fell to the ground on my way to class. I could have stepped on them on the way there. I don't know. I decided to take them back in exchange for a new pair.

Also, sometimes, I forget my iPod nano while studying. If I am on a computer on campus, I would go on Youtube or Last.fm. On Last.fm, the instrumentals are again very strong. They sound wonderful, in fact. The vocals? They sound like a faraway echo (except they're not really echoing).

Here I am, testing them again. I'm getting the same static sound I got when I first used them. It could be the headphones' sensitivity, but I'm only looking for headphones that can play crisp and clear music with no technical difficulties. I had read what other people said. They made me more confident in opening the box the first time. Results I got depended on what device I had used the headphones with. I exchanged them for another set. I still got the same results as I did the first time.

Luckily, I had gotten a pair of Skullcandy Dub headphones as backup. They were on sale for the same price (the original price was about half of that of the Roxy's). I can't distinguish one headphone from another in terms of quality. I just know that I am satisfied with my purchase if I can hear the music well. If it cuts off surrounding background sounds as well, then that's a plus. The Skullcandy Dub are amazing. You should get those although they do not come with a microphone or a little pouch to keep your iPod nice and safe.

If you like the occasional treat of listening to just the instruments and not the vocals, go ahead: get them and keep them. Hell, I like that occasional treat, too. But I'm not buying headphones for that purpose as I have no aspirations in music composition. Go figure.
