If you are tired of the flimsy, plastic, sony headphones, well you have other choices. For dj's who use their headphones often, the Technic/Panasonic RP-DH1200 is the answer. The sound quality is very comparable to the sony vj 700's, and arguably better (particularly in its bass response). But what makes these headphones a great deal is that the cord is replaceable and so are the chushion pads on the headphones. I will warn you though that the headphones are slightly more heavy on the head than the sony ones, but for me it hasn't been that noticeable to me. Anyways, good luck in your search.

I'm into quality, and that's what you will get from these Technics headphones. I'm not a DJ, but I know these headphones work great for home listening. The volume can be turned up without any distortion at all. You may even want to record your mp3s at higher bitrates because you will be able to hear the difference between 128 and 256. The headphones are very well designed and comfortable. I find it hard to stop listening to them because I like them so much. The coiled cord stays out of the way. These headphones may be a little too bulky to wear walking down the street, but they are well worth their price. They also block out many ouside noises and other people in the room cannot hear the music you play at normal levels. This product will truly provide a new listening experience.

This is my first pair of decent headphones for bedroom djing. So far the sound seems to be pretty good, but I don't find them too comfortable. Granted I can't compare these to other similar headphones. Also, I think comfort is very relative, depending on the shape of your head, whether you wear glasses (I do) and other factors. That said, I find that I can't wear these headphones for too long without my ears, neck, and top of my head feeling uncomfortable. For novices like myself in the market for headphones, I would strongly recommend trying them on (and using them for an extended period, if possible) before buying them.

I've owned two pairs of these. I agree with the other reviewer that they sound the best out of any DJ headphone that I've owned, but they are not durable. The headband and joints broke with both pairs within 6-8 months. I thought that I may have been hard on the first pair while using professionally, but the second failed after a few months of deliciate use. Dissapointing, especially at this price point.

Every time I break a set of phones, I get a different brand and model to try new things out. That was until I got these. Now these will break, but keep in mind every swivel DJ phones in this range will break just the same in about a year or 2 depenindg how to treat them. You should always have a warrenty for phones anyways so the durability shouldnt even be an issue. THEY ALL BREAK. First off, a huge advantage to these is the comfort. Not only are they the most comfortable dj phones in this range, but unlike some others, they are completely closed ear. The sound quality is fantastic. Better than the denons or the pioneers. Sony 700's have better sound sure, but at the cost of the most uncomfortable DJ phones I ever had. They are a bit heavy, not too big of a deal. They are bulky but the styling is decent too. Did I mention, unlike the pioneers and denons, they also come equipped with a detachable plug and the quarter inch at the end has a 90 degree arm on it so the cord wont get in the way on most mixers. listen, your not going to go wrong on pioneer hdj1000, sony 700 or even the newer denons in this range. But these Technics have a slight edge over the swivel phones at this price range. You want something better than Technic dh1200? be prepared to spend at least 300.

I've actually bought three pairs of these. I DJ. I've used mine every single day for the last 2.5 years. A couple weeks ago I bought a pair for a friend as a present. This week, my old pair finally gave out. One side no longer produces sound. But let me tell you with the abuse I give them, I never expected them to last this long. It's amazing they've gotten this much use and made it. I'm so happy with them I came right back here and bought my third pair.

They've also got great sound and great noise blocking thanks to the size and fit of the ear cups. I find them very comfortable and can wear them for long periods of time.

These headphones are absolutely incredible. They recreate sound perfectly and I was able to hear new things in songs I had been listening to years thanks to these cans. They fit over my ears (and head) very easily and comfortably, which is one of the most important product specifications for me -- I am beginning to DJ and will be wearing these headphones in excess of 3-4 hours at a time, and they have yet to begin hurting my ears (which is a problem with most good quality headphones, they begin to hurt after too much use) but not with the DH1200.
