I bought this because it was half the price of the serious thick vinyl mats. It has the consistency of a thin rug, looks like felt on the top and a thin layer of rubber on the bottom. It took a while for the wrinkles to smooth out. It does protect the floor from rain and other drips. It's thin enough to trim with a scissor if you need to (I cut away a section to accommodate a parking block). It does pick up imprint of tire tread a little, and it will bunch a bit if you have to turn your wheels with the car stationary. It is light enough to blow up in a stiff wind, so best to tape down the corners. I will use it until I feel I've got my money's worth out of it, but will probably eventually move to a heavier vinyl mat.

(addition after a few months ...) When not taped down, the lightweight fabric started sticking to the wheels of the car, and wrapping itself around the axle. It should definitely be secured!

I had purchased 3 smaller mats for my garage and wanted something larger, so seeing this one under the car I thought it was the same type. So I order two to cover 2/3 of my garage. The order was delivered promptly by UPS in 2 not so large boxes. I knew I was in for something I hadn't counted on before opening the boxes. Two thin, sprawling pieces of rubberized backing covered by some felt. I kept them, put them down. It's impossible to vacuum them with my vacuum, pulled off the felt, wrinkles the whole mess. I just didn't want to go the the trouble of packing them, taking them to UPS and paying $25.00 for shipping. Disappointments like this are the best reason I don't order from AMAZON. I purchased two of these mats in Sept 2009. We live in Pennsylvania and deal with a prolonged mix of winter conditions, including salt from roadways. These mats have held up extremely well through two rough winters. The garage surface is smooth concrete covered by epoxy. The mats trap the water, snow and salt and keep it away from the garage floor. Mats sweep up and vacuum very easily. The only complaint is that the mats are very light and we live in a high wind area. If you open the garage door on a windy day, the mats roll up. Other than that, they have been worth the cost so far.

I bought this mat because my garage has a bad slope toward my house. I have used it for a couple weeks so far with one stow storm. It did collect all the snow off my mini van. It has seeped out a small amount on the edges, but not so that it's a huge puddle, just wet around the edges slightly. This was a large snow storm, so there was plenty to collect. I was using card board boxes before, so it's a large improvement. It does fit under the large van well, I had to pull it up closer to the front to collect the drip from the front bumper and allow extra space since the slope is in the front of the garage. The mat is still very wet after 5 days, not sure how long it will take to dry out in this temperature. I think it's a good value for the price, and definately much cheaper than drilling a drain into the garage.

For this price this mat is well worth it! I was skeptical frankly but I have painted my garage floor several times over the years (with concrete paint) and after a while the hot tires from my vehicle would melt any paint I used and the paint under the tires would come up. While the rest of the garage looked great it was a constant problem. This mat stays put, lays well, and either washes off nicely or can be vacuumed with my shop-vac quickly and easily. It is a great product for the money. I could have spent much more for a real thick one but this is thick enough, looks nice, looks great really (and I AM picky)...... I do recommend this 20ft. vs. the 17ft.-there is LITTLE price difference and while I was on the fence regarding length, the extra 3 ft. did the trick...... I HIGHLY recommend it, I would get another one years down the road, the same one, without hesitation. I am confused by the other review because mine is ONE piece, not two pieces and came in one box (not two boxes), it is exactly as described, one piece and well made, just fyi.

This is a wonderful product. We have 2 in our garage. My husband suffered a massive stroke and is left side
paralyzed. He walks with the aid of a brace. Because we live in Northern Minnesota and our garage is not
heated, we put these on the floor of the garage in the winter. He can then walk into the garage to his car
or snowblower without the fear of slipping and falling on the floor. My children gave him the first one for
xmas and I had a heck of a time finding another one. I sought out google and found this online.

I just got the mat, and - with one exception - it seems well made, right for the job of protecting the garage floor yet looking pretty good. One small gripe, on one side of the mat, for a short stretch, the border is slightly uneven - no big deal.

These is a great product and the company has a very good price I am well pleased.
