Tried this for the first time and it does seem to help a lot. The water here is not terribly hard ,but the filter will calcify rather quickly in the winter. The use of this treatment has cut down the need to clean the filter with vinegar as often and extended the life of the filter.

I'm not really sure it helps soften the water in my humidifier. It turns the filters pink---not sure it's helping the water quality.
