Item has broken 3x's since I have gotten it. The basket is good but the chain holding it is cheap and it comes apart and my items have falling. I am going to home depot and buy new chains and redo the whole thing! For the cost of item it should have been nonbreakable, gee I just had 4 apples and one bunch of bananas in it.I should have gotten a cheap one from walmart like I did before cause that lasted me a lot longer then this one (3years). Item is not worth the price!

Item is not represented correctly in photo. It is shown having circular rings and upon receipt it has vertical rods connected by top and bottom rings only. Additionally it is rather cheaply built and the chains look like they will break at any time.

The first time I used this basket the chains broke. The baskets are pretty, I like that they have a rounded shape, as opposed to the flat bottom shape you see more typically. But breaking INSTANTLY? That is just infuriating. This product is worthless. Save your money.

I liked the baskets but when loaded with fruit the support chains broke. Since replacing the three hanging/supporting chains, I have not had any problems.

The other reviewers are right: the chains on this basket are ridiculously cheap. I knew this before I purchased it, but bought it anyway because it's nicer looking than most other fruit baskets on Amazon. The "bowls" are also better designed than most, as the closely wrapped wires keep the fruit from getting bruised (compared to those with wider spaced wires or mesh, which cut into tomatoes or peaches). Knowing, however, that the chains are weak, I went to Lowe's & got some good quality, thin (but strong) chain, and restrung the whole thing. After about 20 minutes with a pair of wire cutters, the fruit basket was restrung and hanging from my kitchen ceiling. Add to the mix a 40lb ceiling hook, and you've got a super strong, beautiful fruit basket that will hold a whole lot of delicious stuff. If, however, you want to take it right out of the box, hang it up, and fill it with lots of fruit, I suggest looking for a better quality basket.

Soft metal chain links promptly pulled apart, dumping the contents on the floor. I should've read the reviews before ordering.

Looks like other people have had some bad experiences with this product, so maybe quality varies. But I've had mine for years and it has never broken and looks great.

I had shopped around quite a bit for a three-tiers wire hanging basket, and found the right format in this one. However, after putting in some bananas, a couple of oranges and two or three other fruits (the baskets were not even full), the chains opened and the basket - with its fruits - fell directly to the floor.

Fruits are heavy. I'm not talking about an enormous amount of fruits, just reasonably filled up. Why then are the chains so flimsy? Very disappointing!

I purchased the 3-tier hanging fruit basket to save some counterspace in my kitchen. The chrome finish looks great and the three baskets were perfect for the amount of fruit that I have. I was not so pleased with the overall strength of the chains holding the basket to the hook. These chains are meant to be adjustable, but this resulted in chain links that were not completely closed. When I filled all three baskets (several apples, oranges and bananas) the chain links came apart in several places, dropping fruit everywhere. Trying to press the links back together didn't work either, I had to go buy new lengths of chain to hang the baskets with. I would have liked it if the chains were made strong enough to hold full loads in all three baskets. I would not buy this product again.

I received two baskets. One was great. The other broke in three places with just a few fruits placed in one of the baskets.
