3.0 out of 5 stars Eh...
I've had these for a couple years. I used them on a flat griddle to cook eggs, but every single time they did not contain the egg, which just oozed from underneath. So far, I have used them more as round cookie cutters.

I've been looking for a long time for these gadgets; ever since I saw a short order chef in a Waffle House use them. I finally found these and ordered them. They are perfect for making Egg McMuffins at home.

I recommend you use spray Pam all around the ring so it will release the egg when it's ready to be flipped. Also don't forget to let the egg sit on the frying pan for a minute or so after you've flipped it as the yolk won't be as solidly cooked as it might seem. Don't ask me how I know that.

I use a hemostat to grip the tab when I'm ready to flip the egg so I don't burn myself. I don't think you'd want to use a bare finger on it.

Finally, I couldn't come up with any reason to keep all four rings. In fact, I do my best work with just one. So I gave two of them to my Dad the last time he came to visit and kept the other two. Both of us are happy with the gadgets.

I like to make my own egg McMuffins, with egg beaters, no fat cheese whole grain english muffins. These rings are stainless steel and heavy.
They do an excellent job of keeping the egg inside the ring, after the pan is heated. They work extremely well with regular eggs also. I highly recommend the RSVP Egg Ring.

5.0 out of 5 stars EGG RINGS, September 26, 2007
This review is from: RSVP Egg Ring, Set of 4
Good for three and a half inch eggs to make your own egg mcmuffins with sausage or ham. I use Morningstar soy sausage which is very good. I also use Costco's brand, Kirkland, Egg Starts for the eggs to eliminate the chlosterol of eggs from our diet. To keep the egg from running from underneath the ring, just put the ring in your frying pan and heat the frying pan on medium heat for about four minutes. then slowly our the egg mixture into the ring to a height of about two inches.
Put on a toasted and buttered Thomas English Muffin along with the sausage. or ham, and a slice of cheese. Be sure to use Pam in your frying pan and on the egg rings before frying. We also feel safe using this product as it is made from stainless steel in our wonderful United States of America

These rings are very heavy and very well made. They are perfectly round so there is no place for the eggs to stick. Just a light spray of oil keeps them stick free. They are easy to clean and strong enough not to get bent when stored in a crowded gadget drawer. The short tabs will get quite hot. I recommend picking them up with tongs. It is important to follow directions and let them get hot in the bottom of the pan before adding eggs. They are a perfect fit for english muffins and bagels.

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect eggs, June 19, 2008
This review is from: RSVP Egg Ring, Set of 4
These egg rings are great. Perfect 3-inch size. I used cooking spray and the eggs slipped easily out of the rings. When the eggs were nearly cooked, I removed the rings and gently turned the eggs over to cook the other side. The eggs kept their shape. The rings are sturdy and washed up well in the dishwasher. I ordered another set for a gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfecting An Old Idea, September 17, 2009

These egg rings are great! I've tried this type of thing several times in the past with poor results. The other rings I've tried aren't heavy enough and aren't level in the pan - letting the egg leak out. These rings are level and hold the egg in the ring. There was only a tiny amount of leakage with one ring when I cooked scrambled egg in them and none at all with the yolk in-tact. This is great considering the pan wasn't perfectly flat. I used them to make eggs benedict and they worked perfectly. I put them in a deep frying pan, added a little water after a couple of minutes and covered with a lid to "poach" the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Egg M-Muffins, August 3, 2008

These egg rings are nice. Very sturdy ,nice finish, They don't quite fill a thomas's muffin seen a little small diameter . Probably should use extra large eggs large seem to make about a 3/8" thick disk . They work great not complaining.

Bought these because I like to make breakfast sandwiches and the first egg ring I bought was too large in most cases (fine if using a large hamburger bun!).

These are a great size for biscuits, bagels (even mini) and english muffins (though they will not quite reach the edge). They are made of a thick gauge steel (stainless) and when sprayed with cooking oil, easily release the egg when lifted. The ring has no apparent welding seam. They also sit flat in the pan. It would be nice if the tabs (handles) had a silicone grip or something similar so be careful when handling while hot. I use tongs or a small dish towel to grab the tabs.

I have found the following to work best for me:

1. Put the rings in the pan then heat.
2. Spray the rings just prior to putting the egg mixture in.
3. Do NOT move the rings (no, don't even TOUCH them) until the egg has cooked enough that you are ready to flip it.
If you move them, even slightly, soon after pouring the egg in, some of the egg can "leak" out. This behavior may
vary as to how much comes out based on the smoothness of the pan interior, how much oil settled after spraying, etc.
4. When ready to remove the ring, I rotate it back and forth quickly (short, rapid jerks - not in a full circle) keeping it level
to release the egg from the sides in case any of it winds up sticking. You can also take a spoon or something similar to
separate any part that is sticking.
5. Lift the ring straight up then flip when ready!

I would definitely get these again. And probably will. As a gift. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, November 3, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

These are the best. I tried the non-stick type with the hinged handles. They attract egg stuff in the crevices and are very hard to get clean. These RSVP's turned out to be much more in the way of "non-stick" and a snap to clean due to the highly polished, stainless steel, seamless design.
I almost didn't purchase these because they are 1/2 inch smaller in diameter than some other, lesser designs. However, don't be put off, I found them to be just right for English Muffins. I put the rings in the pan while heating the pan and melt a pad of butter trying to get some on the inside wall of the rings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Egg Rings, February 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: RSVP Egg Ring, Set of 4
These are a great diameter, and heavy gauge stainless steel ring. I like the fact that the rings are seamless, which makes them easier to clean, and also gives the eggs less to stick to. I just put some butter in the ring, and heat the ring up fully prior to putting the egg in. With a hot buttered ring, I have not had any eggs sticking to the ring. I like these much better than 'non-stick' cheap rings I have used in the past. Being a heavier gauge steel, they feel very durable, and I am looking forward to having them around a long time.
