5.0 out of 5 stars If you understand that it has limitations it works just fine
I read just about every review for this product before chancing a purchase. It came in a decent package first off and was undamaged. Although the individual product came with the chains a bit tangled up, upon correcting that and orienting it properly I was able to hang it with no problem and put as much as 7lbs of items on it. 1.0 out of 5 stars shoddy workmanship.
I bought this set of hanging baskets and was surprised when I went to put a bunch of bananas in it. It fell to the gound. The chains had broken in not one, but two places!

I used my needle nosed pliers to try and fix it, and for a while it was ok. however, this morning it broke again.

Now it's in the trash.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on this kitchen basket, February 10, 2006

The chains on this kitchen basket broke in 5 places after only 2 weeks of use. It is very poorly made. Don't waste your money on it. Thankfully no one was underneath it when it broke, but it could potentially be dangerous. I've reported it to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of Sudden Crashes!, March 22, 2007

I've had this item for about two years, and for a long while I thought it was a great solution to my kitchen storage issues. However, just like one of the other reviewers, one day I must have put one banana too many in the basket, because the chains snapped and everything fell to the counters. I fixed it, like the other reviewer, with pliers, but it happened twice more, and now I am giving up. It's not worth the bruised fruit or toes!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I read just about every review for this product before chancing a purchase. It came in a decent package first off and was undamaged. Although the individual product came with the chains a bit tangled up, upon correcting that and orienting it properly I was able to hang it with no problem and put as much as 7lbs of items on it. I have not had any problems thus far and I am inclined to help bring the rating on this item back up. I am sure 5%-10% of items shipped could lead to defects but based on the reviews it seems like a careless assembly of the components and an overloading of the baskets themselves is what has caused the items to fail. I currently have 3 oranges, 6 limes, 2 bulbs of garlic, 7 med onions, and about 10 medium sized potatoes and it has capacity for more. I think the item is worth a chance baring the care and consideration of assembly and also not throwing the entire pantry onto the baskets and expecting it to hold up. I like mine and when Amazon offers pictures of assembled and used items in peoples reviews I think Ill post a picture of it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure Garbage!, February 7, 2009

This item would be great - except for the fact that the chain might be the cheapest, badly made, low quality chain ever made. We put three oranges in and all three chains broke - AT ONCE.

After this, I pulled the chain with my hands and it broke with no effort.

Stay away from this product - it is made for the garbage.

1.0 out of 5 stars weak chain breaks too easily, January 21, 2009
This review is from: Hanging Wire 3-Tier Baskets (Kitchen)
My first review on amazon and it has to be a negative one. I hung the basket up and one of the 3 chains broke as soon as I put in a bunch of bananas in the bottom basket. Thought I could "fix" it by squeezing the link closed again with plyers, but it happened again. I saw reviews suggesting the chain is weak and should have listened. I don't recommend this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice addition to the kitchen., April 12, 2006

I was worried that one reviewer's chains fell apart, but am happy to share that my basket set is just fine. It isn't terribly elegant, but I'm not complaining, given the price. The basket set frees up space on the kitchen counter, and I think reminds me to eat the healthy fruits and veggies I put in there by keeping them at eye level.

The baskets are exactly what I needed for my kitchen and are beautifully represented in the pics. Seller is prompt and accurate and I hope to buy from them again soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Right!, May 6, 2007
I was looking for the perfect solution to get my fruits and vegetables off the counters. I really like the way they look. I bought two and placed one on each side of my kitchen window. They really are attractive. One is filled with fruit and the other has vegetables. I really think I'm eating healthier now that I have my baskets!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good find, July 23, 2007
Truthfully, not many manufacturers are making these baskets out of copper.
I was happy to find this one.
This is well-made, however, I would wish they had made the parts holding each basket to the chain heavier to take some overloads (make them able to hold more weight in fruit and vegetables than what it is rated).
Otherwise, I am pretty satisfied with the product.
