must open very CAREFULLY,

these bags are great if you open them very, very carefully. but that's not so easy. i guess what makes them biodegradable is what makes them very, very easy to tear. it's not easy to separate one bag from the other on the roll to get the process started. and i often accidentally get tears at the bottom, making the bag useless - as another review has said. i probably won't buy this product again.

I purchased these bags as they are designed to fit the 1 gallon RSVP pail. They do fit perfectly and work well, but they are, in my view, very expensive.

I purchased several boxes of these bags to use in a 1 gallon kitchen compost pail. For the most part, they work pretty well. They are manufactured with side seams and about half way through the roll of bags, several bags started splitting at the seams when placed in the empty pail making them useless. I sent an email to the manufacturer/distributor with no response. I think that's pretty poor customer service.

great, if only the seams didn't break,

We bought these about a year ago. The seams are at the tops and bottoms (similar design to a produce bag in the grocery store). I will definitely not buy these again. The bottom seam break frequently as I try to open one and line the container. Can't wait to use up the bags and buy a new brand replacement.

It does the job! I can throw the kitchen scraps right into the composting bin without a mess and it is biodegradable. What more can you ask for, except for it to be free?

My stainless pail developed a leak before it was a year old and I thought I was going to have to throw it away. These bags made it usable again!

They do leak a little, so I put a small piece of newspaper in the bag & under it. Let's see how this does.

We've use compostable bags in our compost pail since we got it. A number of bags in the last batch from Gardeners Supply came off the roll shredded. Never contacted Gardners Supply about the bags because a photovoltaic mobile from them had also failed after about three months and decided it was time to look elsewhere - simply don't need the hassles. So we tried Amazon, this vendor/manufacturer seem to have a heavier grade bag - its too soon to tell if mid roll we will find shredded bags but for the time being they seem fine. If they work well, I'll be a repeat customer

The price was really good--much better than retail or mail order. But after hearing so much negative feedback about whether the bags split or not; we would toddle on off to the composter with crossed fingers. So far, we haven't decorated the yard with coffee grounds. But just in case, we now place the bag in a plastic beer pitcher in case it splits en route. We drink the beer first. Ha.May I ask--why can't these bags be placed as an "inner liner" in consumable products with recommendation to use for composting? Might be a way for the product name to get around instead of just word-of-mouth.

This is my second purchase of Bio Bags - Compost Pail Liners. I find they are thin, but work well for my needs. I use them in the one gallon ceramic kitchen top compost bucket. The bags do go over the sides of the pail quite a bit, and I do not like how that looks. I take a rubberband and scrunch the bag around the top of the compost bucket and tuck the sides in to make it look a bit cleaner for my high traffic kitchen counter. I prefer this bag over other biodegradable bags and will be purchasing them again. I have not had a problem or ripping or tearing of the bags - even when very full.
