the one I got did not close properly
and had very poor construction I have a 4 in one that has given me years of service and is still better than this one.

This is huge.
In fact those who have studied ancient Greek mythology might opine this the steel bustier of a river nymph. Yet the fine mesh holds all but the tiniest of tea dust securely within. Comment is made elsewhere that the clasp may grow loosened with our early morning fumblings, yet comment also elsewhere replies that a simple pinch with a needle nose pliers can secure it once more. I applaud such courageous and wise do-it-yourself spirit, and, noting the possibility of my clumsiness eventual over the years of daily use loosening the tightness of the clasp's steel grasp, agree with this home grown cure. This thing is huge. Take a look at how far three inches reaches on your desk ruler: over pinky length. Imagine that linear measure in circular diameter. This thing is huge. Each morning I use this for a goodly quart of tea, using a slightly rounded teaspoon (no pun intended) and a 32 OUNCE MEASURING CUP (1 QUART) CLEAR BULK covered with a simple small plate, left to steep while I bathe. Yes. I do bathe, each morning, whether I need to or not, such morning ablutions having now grown habitual, and providing time for a good steeping of tea. This tea ball is so huge each tiny leaflet of that slightly rounded spoonful has ample room to move and disperse its rich tea goodness. What tea? The only tea. The one and only tea. The pure tea. The Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea, Loose Tea, 3.53 -Ounce Tins (Pack of 6). Of course this tea ball, being huge, may also be used as a spice cachet, securely containing any spice, even bay leaves, cloves, coriander seed, rosemary sprigs, etc., easily removed as one unit within this teaball for those rare times guests might object to leaves and seeds swimming in their stew: "Brother! What is this leaf doing swimming in my soup?!" "It looks like the backstroke, my lord." I myself prefer the spicy crunch of seeds, twigs and leaves in my stew, but when civilization rarely comes knocking it is good to be prepared. Perhaps therefore two of these very inexpensive tea balls could serve your kitchen well, one for spice, the other for tea. A solid product, excellent for its intended usage, easy to maintain, which should last a lifetime of daily use. Makes life once more worth living!

For Big Teapots!,

It's hard to find a teaball large enough for a big teapot, and I prefer the mesh since it allows the tea to fully infuse, unlike the metal balls with a few little holes poked here & there. Just measure the teapot's mouth before you buy to make sure it's at least 3 inches in diameter! A super product, which I've bought for myself & for friends.
