The jar uses a silicone gasket to hermetically seal the spices within it, protecting and preserving them. It is made of durable and clear glass, and is designed to have an angular, unique shape. They got here in great condition, I etched snowflakes on them tied a little ribbon put M&M's in them and gave them away for christmas, Everyone loved them! Super cute!

for the price not too bad. Item is not as well built as others out there but for the price its about right, the seal could be made out of better plastic. 4 stars!

The jar was smaller than I expected. It was not worth the amount paid for. You can get this item cheaper at walmart or IKEA.
