The Vetta RT77 is an excellent, yet cheap cyclometer with cadence. It isn't overly fancy, but it is sturdy and relatively easy to use. Unless you're looking for wireless, there' no reason to spend more.

I purchased the Vetta RT77 as my first cyclometer. This was the most basic recommended model I could find that had cadance. Installation went well and the unit functions very nicely, though the instructions were not clear in places. Everything works and works well. When, not if, I replace this cyclometer with a better one it will be wireless as the mess of wires is a little ugly even after spending some time carefully routing and dressing them. I will walk carefully through the interface of the next cyclomter as this one is at least a little unintuitive. After a couple of weeks of use I'm still having to stop, look at the display, and think for a minute to get to the display I want when I want a change.

That said the Vetta RT77-13 is a great value and worked well for me.

The Vetta RT77 was my first bike computer. It's a cheap, very basic model that has worked okay, but there is major room for improvement. Personally, I would spend a little extra to get a computer with a bigger screen and more functionality. This computer gives you the basics: speed, ride time, average speed, top speed, total distance ridden on trip, total distance ridden overall. Speed data can be displayed either in miles per hour or kilometers per hour.

My biggest complaints about it are as follows:

1) The screen is very tiny and only displays current speed + one other item of information (ride time; average speed, top speed, total distance ridden, etc.) This means that if you want to see a data parameter that isn't currently displayed, you have to press a button to cycle to another parameter, then press until you get back to the one you had originally. A bigger screen such as is featured on Planet Bike models that shows most of the parameters you will use on your ride without the need to switch through them, is a big advantage compared to this model.
2) My biggest gripe -- to reset the parameters (clear the ride data from the screen and start at zero), one has to press the two buttons on the computer, located on the left and right, simultaneously. The computer is extremely unforgiving when it comes to this -- you have to press the buttons (which are cheaply made) perfectly in sync, or else the computer will only recognize one button input and will simply cycle through the data screens. As the computer gets used more and more, the buttons become less sensitive and more difficult to press together simultaneously for reset. And in cold weather, forget about doing it with gloves on -- it's totally impossible. I find this incredibly annoying and I would avoid this model simply for this trait alone.

Bottom line - I would not recommend this bike computer unless you literally cannot afford an extra 10 or 20 dollars to get a Planet Bike model.

I bought the Vetta because I had purchased one 15 years ago and it lasted this long and I was very happy with it. This one had everything I was looking for including cadence. However, I ignored some of the warnings of the difficulty in installing it. First, it comes with wires that will ONLY accommodate a front wheel installation. So, if you plan on using your bike on a trainer, you are out of luck. I found extension cables that allowed me to install the sensors on my rear wheel...however, when that arrived it didn't work. So, I ended up sending everything back.

I couldn't find a cheaper product that would measure cadence. The only problem is messy wiring around the bike frame, but this is the case with any other wired product. I would upgrade to a wireless model in the future. Overall, this is a decent product in this price range.

This is a decent computer. I had some problems getting it set up at first. The wires are too short to put the speed sensor on the back wheel (so that it can be used on an indoor trainer) so I had to put the computer on the top tube. Once I got everything set up it seems to work well. It is a good value but, I will probably spend the extra money for wireless the next time I purchase one.

I purchased this product specifically because I wanted an easy (and cheap) way to check my cadence during spin workouts.

This unit was very easy to set up using the included instructions although I did have to do a minimal amount of jury-rigging due to having a spin cycle instead of a bicycle. I appropriated a magnet from an old refrigerator magnet for the speed/distance measurement because the included magnet is not made to attach to a fly wheel. For the cadence measurement I had to create a mount for the sensor so that the magnet attached to the crank would activate it. I also used a tape measure and Google (for the math formulas) to come up with the circumference of the fly wheel to enter into the computer.

All in all it appears to be fairly accurate and I am very pleased with my purchase.
