I purchased this barrel last summer based on its great looks. I have had compliments on how good it looks. However, after the first rain fall, the barrel filled and I noticed the back 'bowed' badly. This pushed the barrel away from the house wall and when I finally emptied it, the damage was done and it is now permanently bowed. Also, the faucet is cheap plastic and the threads no longer attach well to my hose. Not a quality item - sad because it looks so good.

I love the look of this barrel. 2 annoying things though, 1) The overflow is right at the front which detracts from the look of the barrel when a hose is attached. 2) Also, when it is full of rain, it expands and the back 'bowes' out. As mine was positioned quite close to the house wall, it caused the barrel to 'push' out against the wall and ended up tilted slightly. It is still full of water right now and I hope it goes back to the original shape when empty.

Is there any way to actually spend a $100 in this world and actually get something worth anything...? Because this looks good but is a piece of junk. The first time it filled with rain water, the entire flat back wall bowed right out about 2-3 inches. I mean...,really....? Can you product engineers please design something that actually works. You must be kidding me..., and you must feel like idiots to be earning solid incomes and coming up with this garbage... Or perhaps its the way it's build by some idiot manufacturer who's cutting corners with cheap materials, bad processes, or having it manufactured in some third-rate country like China....? Whatever the issue, I'm sick and tired of spending decent money on ABSOLUTE JUNK...! So..., to anyone pondering this barrel on Amazon.com like me (or anywhere else) - only buy it if you want it for decor, and NOT if you actually want to use it for what it's supposed to be made for... Gathering rain that is...!!! Oh...., and the stand that's designed to hold this thing up (which you'll also notice anywhere you're looking at this barrel) is also a piece of junk... First time my barrel filled up, it collapsed the front part of the stand's structure and started leaning forward... What ABSOLUTE JUNK...!!!
