The 52-inch LG RU-52SZ61D widescreen rear-projection TV will turn your living room into a personal cinema or broadcast your business message with a large, bright image size. It has a built-in 181-chanel NTSC tuner, but you'll need a separate HDTV tuner to receive high-definition broadcasts. LG Õs XD Engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinema like high resolution images.

The RU-52SZ61D features a widescreen picture aspect ratio (16:9; standard TVs have a 4:3 aspect ratio), which is the ideal screen format for viewing widescreen video from DVD players and the growing availability of broadcast programming off digital HDTV tuners (HD content is always widescreen), cable boxes and satellite receivers.

This set has a 1280 x 720 aspect ratio, 1000:1 contrast ratio with a 600 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and viewing angles of 90 degrees horizontally and 34 degrees vertically. The RU-52SZ61D has two built-in 15-watt speakers (for 30 watts of total power) and can provide virtual surround sound through these speakers. It features the following video and audio connections:
