I learned Russian in an intensive program at a military academy, the Defense Language Institute, and then moved onwards to a university to continue in Russian (among other things). This book, in its many editions, has proven to be invaluable, as the language itself is quite difficult for a native English speaker..mainly because of unfamiliar grammar patterns. If grammar is also your problem with Russian (which it is!), this will prove very helpful. Additionally, this is more for the student with experience in the language, not the beginner.
