The kingpinless swivel on this caster operates on a precision-machined double-welded carbon steel raceway with a 3" diameter and 1/2" ball bearings and is hardened to a 53 Rockwell C minimum for durability and smooth 360-degree rotation. The raceway has offset sides that direct the load sideways into the metal for durability and to resist impact damage. The plate caster's wheel consists of a black phenolic resin that is infused and reinforced with macerated cotton canvas fabric for an extra hard tread with a hardness of 90 Shore D, and it is capable of withstanding temperatures that range from -65 to +275 degrees F for use in bakeries and other high-temperature industrial environments. The wheel rolls with ease, is quieter than a steel wheel, helps protect floors, and resists impact damage, oil, grease, and most acids and solvents. This caster has one lubrication fitting for the swivel section and one lubrication fitting for the wheel bearing to facilitate field maintenance. The caster frame is made of case hardened steel to resist cracking and it is finished with blue paint to resist dirt. This caster has a 2,500 lb. total capacity.
