Book Description

October 3, 2003
As Abba's children, we need only to define ourselves through His Son just as the apostle John did: as one beloved by God.

Through this timeless devotional, author and speaker Brennan Manning brings you from a lukewarm, distant faith to being close enough to lean against Jesus--the Great Rabbi--and listen to His heartbeat.

Adapted from the best-seller Abba's Child, this daily reminder of the Father's relentless love will help you accept your identity as a child of God as you grow in spiritual formation.

Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

"Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is an illusion." You are God's beloved child. Brennan Manning brings us from a lukewarm, distant faith to being close enough to lean against the breast of Jesus--the Great Rabbi--and listen to His heartbeat. Adapted from Brennan's best-seller Abba's Child, this moving devotional is a daily reminder to soak in our Father's relentless love. As Abba's children, we need only to define ourselves through His Son just as the apostle John did: as one beloved by God. [ENDORSEMENTS TO COME]

This is B. Manning at his best. His user-friendly style of writing immediately draws one into his very heart and soul. The title alone suggests compassion, love, and care. And, this is the "heart beat" of the Rabbi.

Manning at his very best. Tremendous introspection, yet very practical. How true, how true. Christ crucified and the depth of God's love for us brought home. I feel the Rabbi's Heartbeat more than ever.
