Some issues that I have with this hutch:

First, when I went to assemble the hutch, I found that several pilot holes were missing. I didn't think this was a big deal at the time, so I just used my power drill to drill in the screws without pilot holes. The wood began to split (not so much that it was unusable, but it was definitely a concern). I would highly recommend drilling your own pilot holes whenever necessary.

Second, the picture and description does not show that on the upper floor, there are two build in troughs. One trough spans the entire width of the hutch for the front half, and the other is in the back of the private area of the hutch. I was planning on placing a litter box that my bun was already used to inside the hutch, but the troughs made that impossible. Also, the picture does not show that over 1/4 of the upper floor space us used as a hole for access to the ramp. This severely limits the amount of space that I was anticipating for my bunny.

Third, my bun has a knack for escape, and within 24 hours of living in this hutch has figured out how to undo the bolt on the second story and escape. This is not a big deal if your bun is house trained, but if you have other animals, or wooden furniture, this could be a problem.

Last, the wood used to make this hutch is, apparently, very tasty. My bun chews on his walls more than his chew toys. We fixed this problem by zip-tying some wooden dowels to the edges where he chews most. These are cheap and replaceable, so he can chew through as many as he wants!

Other than the drawbacks that I've pointed out, this is a great hutch. It is very sturdy, and my bun seems to love it. We are using it for an indoor hutch, so we usually just leave all 3 doors open and let our bunny hop in and out.

We received the rabbit hutch very quickly after it was ordered. My 16-year old daughter actually assembled it by herself. Our bunny is very happy. She likes to move from the top to the bottom. We have the rabbit hutch in our family room. We bought an indoor/outdoor rug to put on the bottom. The hutch is pretty easy to move with 2 people. Once we move it, we can take the rug and shake out all of the hay/bedding etc. We clean everything and then move the hutch back in place. The top opens which makes it easy to clean the top area and feed your rabbit. The locks are solid. We are very happy with our purchase and are now looking for a bunny to share the space.

Purchase this hutch for one rabbit and am now using it for two. There is a hatch that closes to separate the bottom from the top. Good quality and great price. Would highly recommend this hutch. Please note that a rabbit will chew the inside edges of the hutch.

we modified ours into a backyard chicken coop and it fits our 3 chickens perfectly! we probably spent an additional $10 for wood, glue and parts, but it turned out great and was way cheaper than comparable chicken coops listed on amazon! i'll be sure to post a picture!

First impressions: Sturdy, good looking hutch that sits in my kitchen!

Overview:
This hutch came packaged well. It was not banged up or cracked. It was well protected! (I had a previous bad experience with a different brand/company which has shipped it poorly and arrived completely destroyed - so I had been nervous.)

The hutch went together smoothly. I took my time, and hand screwed everything in so that the soft wood would not be cracked. I was able to put this together alone.

The top has a hinge that allows it to open from the top. The drawer comes out completely, which allows access to the bottom of the cage for cleaning (I too had originally been frustrated with the one door design at the bottom, until I realized I just needed to pull out the drawer to access the bottom completely.)

The drawer is lined with hard plastic - which I now line with dog pee pads and litter wheat pellets and use as a full length litter pan. (pee pads make it extremely easy to maintain - my rabbit is not litter box trained - he is old and set in his ways.)

Negatives:
The one negative thing I have found about the hutch is the ramp. They lined the ramp with roofing shingle material. Which some shingles are made from fiberglass - so not really thrilled with that being used for bunnies. It is rough, and bits of it comes off. Also, my rabbit was unable to get any grip on the shingles and would just slide down, and then be stuck in the bottom.

I alleviated this, buy getting a strip of carpeting from Home Depot (from a carpet runner that has parallel ridges - found a scrap about 3.5' x 5") and attached it along the inside edge (over the shingles) with some heavy duty staples.

I spent many many hours researching the perfect home for our new bunny. After reading all of the reviews on nearly every rabbit cage listed, I chose this one. I have been completely satisfied. I wanted something sturdy, and spacious, that would also look great and this has met all my expectations. The bunny shares a room with his new mommy, my 7 year old daughter, who is able to clean the cage by herself due to it's convenient details. There is a pull out drawer that makes cleaning the cage a breeze as well as three doors allowing access to all of the hutch. The bunny does chew on it quite extensively but I think that is to be expected, as this is what rabbits do. The hutch is quite large but I am very happy with the size overall and the room it allows for the bunny to navigate, while allowing for separate eating, sleeping, and soiling areas as preferred by rabbits.
