I have 3 very hyper little bunnys who needed a new cage. I just moved 2 states over and their old cage (may it rest in pieces) was horrible & too tiny. I did my research before buying a new cage for them, mean while the lucky buns got to stay outside on my patio (fenced in..no worries) in their playpen durring the day. My choices were all either too large for my apartment or tiny for them. Most choices, like this one, didnt have a bottom to the cage; since it's made of outdoor use.

I dreaded the idea of having a cage with no bottom and looked for days trying to find something (anything!) with a bottom that was also large enough....no luck. So I ordered this cage hopeing it would fit in my 2nd bedroom and also that I would be able to find something to put under it to protect my carpets. (the buns ruined my last carpets. that cage was a nightmare!) I also needed a cage that I could clean easily. I have too many chores during the day so it had to be easy to get in there and clean up quickly. The pull out tray is usesul but I dont use it. The tray is the on the 2nd floor and it runs the full length of the cage , which is great, but I didnt realize how impractical it was until I tried to clean it. The poor bunnies were horrified when I tugged on their floor and they moved (a whole 2 inches...drama bunnies!)So I tried scooting them to the bottom floor, but then the hay would fall on their heads. I had a death threat now. I dont touch the tray anymore, I just scoot them into their borrow (the right side of the cage) and I bought a kitty litter scooper to scoop the poop. My method works well, although Jake still gets upset that he needs to build another nest in there. It keeps him busy anyway! The cage has abunch of doors so you can get in there and clean.

We got another bunny so we needed more space . . . we purchased this hutch - came quickly and we put it together in less than an hour. Great instructions and construction. You will need to do something at the bottom . . . cement or bricks as one of our bunnys started digging immediately. We are going to put some pavers down and wire into the ground - she is locked in the top right now - which is about the same size as her other hutch and I think she feels fancy! As soon as the new bunny is old enough to get fixed - he will join her in their new CONDO! LOL

My hutch arrived in good condition with all of its pieces. I put this together in about 2 1/2-3hrs by my self while talking in the phone lol. I purchased the large size, which is pretty big. I have 2 baby part dwarf bunnies that we got this for. So they have plenty of room to play & hop around. I think this size would house 3 medium to large sized bunnies very well.
I just used a screwdriver to assemble the hutch. I wouldn't recommend using a drill. The wood is fragile.
There is a trap door to keep your bunnies upstairs if needed. The attic space is great to store food, hay & toys! There are 4 doors around the bottom. The back is completely solid all the way down.
I really like this hutch. It is very spacious for small bunnies.

I love this product! I have little skill in construction but even I put the hutch together myself within about 5 and a half hours. Yes, there was a lot of cussing but it got done. : You do have to make sure you close up the bottom or stay with the rabbits at all times while they're using the bottom portion. While I wasn't looking a neighbor's German Shepard went right in through the bottom. After about a month I had both my rabbits back again. My rabbits are outdoor pets so I don't use the bottom portion at all anymore due to this experience. Instead I stuffed the bottom section with straw and it seems to work fabulously for insulation to keep my little ones warmer. I like the roof because you can unscrew it and fill it with straw too for further insulation. I did have a little trouble with the ramp as it broke quickly but as I've already mentioned I don't use it anymore anyway. I have added extra screws to the roof to assist in keeping it closed tightly since I have insulated it with straw. For my purposes this hutch rocks! I may buy another one next year if there's money left over after I get a new chicken coop.
