We own the 5th and 8th edition and now the 9th. In comparing yes there is more information that has been updated and that is all wonderful but I found the Breeds of Rabbits Pictures greatly disappointing they are some of the worst I have seen and do not represent there breeds well at all. The people could have asked ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) for updated pictures of the different breeds. I putting this out there cause I think the book is great but ask that those getting into Rabbits to PLEASE check with reputable breeders before buying there stocked based on the pictures in this book for example the New Zealand in the book if just awful and looks nothing like today New Zealand. I think what they did with those pictures was use one they have used since the 1968 5th Ed book from what I compared they ware the same rabbit. On another note would have loved to see more of the other pictures in the book be in Color with the price being so high.

As one who owned and read two previous editions of Rabbit Production, leaving them dog-eared and marked with margin notes, I eagerly anticipated the release of this 9th edition. It is everything I hoped for, and contains a lot of new material. If you will buy but one single rabbit book, this should be the one. The authors are very enthusiastic about all aspects of rabbit science and ownership, and their fascination with rabbits is evident in the depth of this book's content.

Not as indepth as I was expecting, based on customer reviews. It briefly covers a few items not covered by less expensive books. But I still feel Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennet, is a better choice for the average rabbit raiser, meat/pet/show... It even covers some info. on treatment of diseases, butchering....

I am a former rabbit "farmer" that is getting back into the business of rabbits. I was looking for any books on the subject I could get my hands on so I could get up to date on the new methods of raising rabbits. This is a fantastic book on the subject, easy to read but has information like you would expect in a textbook. This is the kind of book I was looking for, congratulations to the author you hit it out of the park with your work.

I've read a lot of books on rabbits and none compare to Rabbit Production. It is the most complete rabbit reference source in print today bar none. It is the only book one needs for raising rabbits for any purpose.
