This book is so wonderful - full of fun sounds, endearing characters, and a spooooky rock. Children love this - my copy is beat to a pulp, but I still pull it out for all the toddlers in my life virtually *all* of whom insist on hearing "Gruummch!" over and over. Scary Rock has never failed me. This book was such a delight to me at the age of 2 (in 1967) that I memorized the entire book including page turn cues and read it to my parents every night. Eat that, Goosebumps!

I first got this book in 1964 when I was six years old. I have kept the original copy as a cherished possession ever since. I have read it through the years to my own children many many times over. It is a delightful book with a charming story line. Every page has some clever wording that kids just find hilarious. And the "sound effects" are always a hit! This book will delight children of all ages. Highly recommended at any price!
