5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Pictures Contemporary Feeling, August 31, 2001
This review is from: Rabbits and Raindrops (Paperback)
Jim Arnosky's Rabbits and Raindrops brings to mind many classic picture books. It has a charming story coupled with pictures that betray the artist as a true lover of authentic naturalism. My children love this tale and it is one of my favorites as well.

My 4 year old daughter loves this book! She really enjoys finding all of the creatures hiding throughout the story. The best part is the ending- it makes her giggle every time.

5.0 out of 5 stars great fpr toddlers, August 25, 2010
This review is from: Rabbits and Raindrops (Paperback)
simple sweet story of a rabbit family trying to seek shelter from the rain and some other meadow animals joining them. Great story for the young. Great for a spring time theme, meadow them, or rain theme. Very nice illustrations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful illustrations, wonderful for young children, November 28, 2009
This review is from: Rabbits and Raindrops (Paperback)
Like all of Jim Arnosky's book, this has absolutely gorgeous, and realistic, watercolor illustrations. The pages are completely filled with the illustrations, with each 2-page spread having a single sentence overlaying the text. The storyline is very simple about a mother bunny and her babies hopping around until it becomes rainy, and they hide before coming back out again. The age range of 4 to 8 is a bit off. This is going to be much too simple for most 8-year-olds, but younger children can enjoy the very simple story and beautiful pictures. My 8-year-old wouldn't come near this book, but my 6-year-old (who loves pretty pictures) does, as do my 4-year-old and 2-year-old. I'd put the age range at something like 2 to 6.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rabbits and Raindrops, November 6, 2004
This review is from: Rabbits and Raindrops (Paperback)
This lovely book chronicles the experiences of a family of baby rabbits on their first day out of the nest. They frolic on the grass, nibble clover blossoms and leaves, and meet spiders, grasshoppers, and bees. Then a rainstorm materializes, and mother and baby bunnies seek shelter under a hedge. The shower ends and the rabbit family is off again to explore and play in the sun. The simple text is perfectly complemented by Arnosky's beautiful watercolor illustrations. Arnosky's paintings show that he is a great lover of nature. This book is great for young children.
