4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Educational Legend, April 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: El Rabipelado Burlado: Cuento De LA Tribu Pemon (Coleccion Narraciones Indigenas) (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
First Spanish then English.

This kid's book is about a Venezuelan legend, and as all the legends it has some aspects that are true, others are false, others funny but it is also very educational. The kids will learn different kind of animals and vegetation proper of Venezuela and proper of the ecosystem in which the "rabipelado" lives. It is a little bit repetitive though but on the other hand, this allow us to understand the real intentions of the "rabipelado". It is great for kids learning Spanish because there are few words per page, nice drawings and simple vocabulary.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Rabipelado Around, October 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: El Rabipelado Burlado: Cuento De LA Tribu Pemon (Coleccion Narraciones Indigenas) (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
How dare people not say this is the best book in the world. It is true that I am young, 16 years of age, and know little about the world. But if you ask me, this is one of the best books of my childhood. The story was enlightening to a little kid, but more importantly the pictures are great. The Rabibelado holding on to the borders of the page. The ilustrations are gorgeous. Lets just say that today 7 years after the last time I read the book, I still remember it clearly. Buy this book, I give you my word that your kids will nto be disapointed by it nor will you.

Given that the title and other review is in English and in Spanish, I thought this was a bilingual book. It is only in Spanish. I think the story is o.k., but my son is not quite 3, and he thinks the book is boring. It has some difficult words, so I think the correct age level should be elementary school. I think it's a little expensive for what it is. Ediciones Ekare has other books that we enjoy more.
