About the Author

Carolyn B. Otto graduated from Colorado College and holds a master's degree from New York University. After several years of living on Manhattan's Lower East Side and working for a major publishing company, she returned to Colorado and now lives in a small house near the mountains where she grew up. Her books for children have included Dinosaur Chase and That Sky, That Rain. Her most recent book, I Can Tell by Touching, was named a 1994 Youth Editor's Choice by the ALA Booklist.

This is a pochet size hardcover book. The pictures in it are very delicate, and it's about the life of a mother raccoon. So as you can imagine, there's no surprising plot, but only protecting the baby raccoons, and searching for food,...etc. I think it's a good source for education, but not entertainment.
