although i am african american, I grew up in a small midwestern town where prejudice was overt--this book taught me more about race relations than any workshop or conference I have ever attended. I heard the authors interviewed on C-Span Book TV. I am indebted to the Ayers for the education afforded me with this book.

The book is really clear about how white supremacy has been running the show in this country from the beginning when white folk showed up here. They explain how it is a very resilient system which changes as necessary conforming to cultural shifts. Non-white people know this. The current attacks on Judge Sotomayor are examples of white supremacy defending itself.
I also liked learning about their early lives where so much garbage was promoted during the last presidential election. Dr. Ayers' ideas about education are wonderful and I shared them with someone in education here where I work. My bumper sticker "eracism" is new and I love it.

Amazing how so - called enemies of the state have no problem working within it. Why no boycott of them from the capitalist system?

The book is a fascinating account by two of the heroes of the sixties.
They have stayed true to their ideals and have many important insights into the scourge of American Life which is racism! I so thankful that they have compiled this book to open the eyes of the new generatiions!

I browsed this book at Borders and refused to buy it as there wasn't one
good bomb plan in it. C'mon Mr. Ayers, you can do better than that!

Ayers and Dohrn's book is typical of their Marxist-Leninist view of the world. Blaming evrything on "White Racism" is the usual mantra of their type. Can we persuade them to take professorships at the University of Zimababwe?
