Book Description

January 1, 2010
Take a wild ride on a Keeborn cat and experience new worlds!Keeborns are the Guardian Sect of what was once an ideal Kee Nation, but impending destruction of their beautiful world forces the Keeborns to flee to Doroon, their new home planet. As Racton Wilcurt ("Race") walks though the perpetual green forest of Doroon, he discovers a Keeborn Cat (named "Satin") caught in the jaws of a colonist's steep trap. Satin is as curious about him as he is about her. Race carefully frees the wounded cat and she thanks him, telepathically. Here Sandy Coleman enters the story. She has been raised on Mars. Her parents sent her there with a guardian to protect her from an assassin on Earth. Sandy becomes a veterinarian in the ranger's service and she travels throughout space. One day she crash-lands on Doroon, where Race and Satin find her in a crumpled heap. They bring her to Satin's cave and Race applies herbal remedies to her wounds. As Sandy begins to heal physically, she and Race grow fond of one another. However, it takes more time for Sandy to regain her full memory. Sandy's lifelong quest has been to find her father, Colonel Coleman. Fortunately, the Keeborn Cats know exactly where he is. They take Sandy to her father's grave and this changes her life. She discovers a paragon tube that provides insight into her father's life - and her own.Race and Sandy now have a similar mission. They want to protect the Keeborn Cats and help the humans colonize Doroon, peacefully. But first, they must defeat their enemies.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Fleeing danger, the telepathically gifted Keeborn cats head to the planet of Doroon where one of them, Satin, lands in a colonist's steel trap. An unwitting Racton Wilcourt frees her, and the two new friends perform a second rescue of exiled earthling veterinarian Sandy Coleman, setting in motion a heroic effort to save the Keeborn cats and initiate a peaceful human colony in Gloria Hartman's Race for Boroon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adventure on Doroon, November 7, 2001
This review is from: Race For Doroon (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book. It has all the suspense, action and adventure of a best seller. I couldn't put it down because I kept wanting to find out what was going to happen next! Race for Doroon will keep you turning pages until the end of the story. There just aren't words enough in any language to say how I truly feel about Race for Doroon. It is one of those "Must Read" books for adventure fans and science fiction fans alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Racial misunderstandings could lead to a disastrous war., December 18, 2002
By
Downstrike (Alturas, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Race For Doroon (Paperback)
Human colonosts have decided there really are mysterious cats on Doroon after all. They're blaming them for the loss of cattle.

The cats have decided that the humans, whose first act on arriving was to kill the King's heir, are just too uncivilized and must be removed.

Meanwhile, the human throne remains empty since the Queen was assasinated years ago. The government she wisely set in motion continues to function but corruption runs unchecked. The Rangers struggle in vain to rid the human worlds of crime and violence because pirates have infiltrated the government.
