About the Author

Author's note: The novel Race the Pale Horse came into being based on an affinity to use writing as my creative outlet. As I share names with a very well established novelist I would like to note that I am not the author credited with such works as The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons. I hold this author in the highest regard and plan to pursue my own writings of edgy and thought-provoking fiction, and it is my hope that this coincidence will not become a point of confusion. Thank you and I hope you enjoy Race the Pale Horse!

The writing is horrible, the plot is stagnant and stale.

I decided to give the book a chance on its own merits, but could not find any by the time I got to Chapter 5 and could not go any farther.

After buying this book I learned the author is another Dan Brown, not the one that wrote The Da Vinci Code.

After buying this book I learned the author is another Dan Brown, not the one that wrote The Da Vinci Code. I was misled by Amazon's suggested readings.

I just ordered this book because I thought it was a new book by the author of the Da Vinci Code, etc. I am upset with myself for not being more diligent and unhappy with Amazon for being very misleading.

RACE THE PALE HORSE was obviously not written by the Dan Brown of DA VINCI CODE talent and fame. The story is about as ill-conceived and ragged as it could possibly be. It jumps helter-skelter in time and location, and has little or no continuity. Add editing that a third grader would be ashamed of, and you have RACE THE PALE HORSE.

Amazon should have been clear with their description of the book. This is not by Dan Brown who wrote The DaVinci Code. And now they won't let me return it and get a refund. Amazon is beginning to become an extremely poor service.

This is my first review of a book on Amazon.com, but I felt it had to be said. I knew this book was not written by Dan Brown of Da Vinci Code fame before I bought it.

However, I read only the first two chapters before I got disgusted and erased it from my ebook reader completely.

The writing is absolutely horrible! How did this get published? Example: "Her and her father went to...." Good lord, no editing? It appears that the author wrote a story, then went back through it with a thesaurus substituting "big words" for all the "little words" -- for instance "the rotund rabbit" when fat would have worked much better. It makes for choppy, sloggy reading. I gave up.

Like the other reviewers I was extremely disappointed that Amazon allowed me to buy this book without any notification it was not the same author as DaVinci Code, etc. Shame on you, Amazon! I love to read so I figured I would give it a shot anyway. I am one who very rarely starts a book and does not finish it, I always like to complete it, bad or not. I'm sad to say I had to stop after a few chapters. I absolutely could not stomach this book. The writing is horrible, the plot is stagnant and stale. Sorry, Mr. Brown, but you may want to find a new career/hobby.

I am an avid reader of Dan Brown books, and when I saw the title Race The Pale Horse by Dan Brown, I looked no further and bought it.
Never have I been so disappointed with a book, firstly because it was not written by THE Dan Brown, and secondly because of it's total uncohesive content. It simply made no sense, and the author's abbreviated form of grammer made it even less so.
I feel that he should scrap all his preconceived ideas of what writing is all about and go back to grass roots level and start afresh. That shouldn't be too difficult since it's his first attempt at writing
My wife and I are avid readers of all manner of book types, and we both agree that this book is rubbish.
I'm sad that I paid money for it and would not recommend it.
