You know that PBS Kids spot where the pig runs around and eats things that begin with the letter "p"? Bob made that! He made a bunch of other animations for PBS Kids and helped them develop a national literacy campaign.

He has met Al Roker and Fonzie.

His stories, artwork and characters have also appeared on Nick Jr. and Noggin. He was even on Noggin, reading one of his books to Ryan, his little boy.

Bob likes to speak in the third person.

Bob has written several children's books, including New Socks, Big Plans, which was illustrated by Lane Smith, Dinosaur vs. Bedtime, Race You To Bed, and Oh Daddy.

Dinosaur vs. Bedtime was one of Amazon's Top 10 Picture Books of the year, and a Horn Book Magazine best of 2008.

He lives in Connecticut with his wife Colleen and his son, Ryan. He and Colleen own Perfectly Nice, a graphic design studio.

Bob enjoys cake.

"Race you to bed," cries the fuzzy bunny staring straight at the reader. This race may seem like a simple dash up stairs, but it quickly develops into a wildly imaginative marathon. Clanging cymbals and banging pots are only the beginning. Computer-assisted illustrations fill the pages with a wealth of textures, from crisp metallic bells to effervescent bubbles and the airbrushed fuzziness of the fearless bunny. Of course, the competitor in this race is the child reading the book. Bunny's frantic antics wind down to a snack and a drink, a bath, a toothbrush, and a book--just like a real child's bedtime routine. The amusing ending will bring a smile to both the sleepy child and the read-aloud grownup.

Kids love the book. Found a Youtube video of it and the kids thought it was fun. So bought this book and Bob Shea's others. Excellent choice 2-5 years old.

Oh, what a fun little bedtime book! We love this story and how it rhymes and wraps you around many different directions, just to win that race to bed. My little one loves this book and we've been reading it every night! Cute, cute!

If you haven't bought every single Bob Shea book, you're missing out. Seriously, go buy them now. They are ALL awesome. Both of my boys love love love this one. And it makes bedtime more about the fun and less about the torture of going to bed.

We ordered this book and ended up with an autographed copy. I don't know if it was a mistake, but my kids thought that was the coolest thing!
