My daughter bought this for my husband when she forgot to get him a souvenir from her trip to DC. We thought it might be boring, but it was quite a lot of fun and we were surprised how competitive we all became. At the same time, it helps (especially kids) have a better understanding of the different types of voters, how states are "won" and electoral votes! Politcally based, but entertaining!

This is one of those board games that my nine year old son LOVES, and that i never hesitate to play as often as he wishes. (if you are a mom of an only child who loves board games you will appreciate how significant that statement is:) ) That has been every day since we got it two weeks ago.

As with many kids, the recent federal election has sparked in my son a thorough interest in the presidency, politics in general and on a larger scale american history. He is reading biographies of the presidents, and making a time line of american history. This board game is by far our favorite of several election type board games that we play.

The directions for the game are easy to understand. This board game really allows a detailed look at how electoral votes are distributed amongst the farm, union, liberal, conservative, and minority groups with in each state. The game is set up to realistic weight certain states towards a republican win, while others are weighted towards the democrats. There is use of strategy, ethics, finances and pure fun in playing this game. I highly recommend it, not only for it's educational value of which there is plenty, but because it is REALLY Fun!!

I've always been a fan of political simulation games, but most are disappointing for one reason or another. Usually the simulations take too many shortcuts to make the game play faster. or they tend to bog down in minutia. This game does neither. I like the fact that it is reasonably easy to learn, but still captures the essence of political realities of the United States' system. We've played a few games so far, and all of them managed to keep the interest of my victims..er..family for the full amount of time needed to complete it. First time for everything!
