Created by Füri in cooperation with celebrity chef Rachael Ray, the Gusto-Grip line of knives are well-made, user-friendly, and fun to look at as a bonus. Designed to retain sharpness and maximize efficiency on the cutting board, Gusto-Grips blades are fashioned from a single forged piece of premium CrMoV German stainless steel. The nonslip polypropylene and rubber handles in cheerful bright orange have a comfortable reverse wedge shape that minimizes the need for squeezing and molds ergonomically to the hand. A smart touch, antimicrobial protection on the grip limits bacteria, mold, and deterioration.

A great little tool, this Gusto-Grip paring knife has a versatile 4-inch blade suited to trimming eyes from potatoes or slicing nectarines. The finger notch creates greater control, and the piece comes with a blade guard that is especially handy in the picnic basket or lunchbox. A match for the Gusto-Grip chef's and santoku knives, the parer carries a limited lifetime warranty and is best washed by hand. A 3-1/2-inch Gusto-Grip parer is also available. --Emily Bedard

Product Description

Furi's Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip knives are now protected with Furi Guard¿, an antimicrobial agent proven to suppress the growth of bacteria, yeast, mold and fungi. Furi-Guard antimicrobial inhibitors are incorporated directly and permanently into the Gusto-Grip handles during the manufacturing process, giving the handle an added safeguard against microorganisms that can degrade handle materials over time! Furi Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip knives are made from the finest German CrMoV stainless steel, forged bolster, one-piece with blade and strong tang for supreme strength. The handle core is molded from ultra-tough polypropylene (PP) with an injection-molded outer layer of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE--a durable synthetic rubber).

This is a very sharp knife and is easy to grip.

I have quite small hands and the 4 inch blade just seems a bit too large for a paring knife.

If you are planning to replace this with one of your pairing knives that came in a furi set, do not order. The quality is not the same and it will not fit in your knife holder that furi supplies. It is ok as a knife on the side to use but not the quality that furi normally puts out. In fact the color is not even the same as it has a slightly off color handle compaired to the sets. Would I order this again. No.

I agree with other reviewers that these knives are not of the same quality as the paring knife that comes with the set, but they are also not the same price! For the price, these knives are excellent. They are very sharp and so far have kept their edge. If you are looking for a REALLY good inexpensive knife, this one will fit your needs.

This knife is not as sharp as I expected and already has rust spots after only one use

I really expected an excellent paring knife from Rachel Ray, but this one is about like all the others I have. It works fine, but is certainly not unusually sharp.

I recently purchased this knife and thinks it works great for everything. Nice feel in hand. I do think it is really sharp maybe too sharp for me. But does a great job. I grab to use it for everything now. I am thinking of purchasing another one.

My friend brought this knife to a party recently, and I used it all night to cut up veggies etc. I immediately asked her to get me the link to this exact knife on Amazon. She did. I bought two. It's just comfortable to use and sharp. What else could anyone ask?

This is a great knife ! Sharp as a razor & more useful than the short paring knife it replaced. Excellent for slicing small items. No complaints so far with this excellent addition to my Rachael Ray knife collection !

I had read another review complaining of rusting. However, I have a Rachel Ray Santoku knife which I was very pleased with so I ordered two of these. One of them rusted the other one has barely been touched so not sure if it would. Very disappointing.
Otherwise, it seems like a better knife if you have larger hands. I have quite small hands and the 4 inch blade just seems a bit too large for a paring knife. It would be fine for use cutting on a cutting board but a bit too big for paring.
