Product Description

Endorsed by Celebrity Chef Rachael Ray, Füri RR East/West Coppertail knives are an upgrade from the original Füri East/West knives that made Füri famous among the leading chefs of the world. They feature a scalloped granton edge and have more ‘roll' in the end of the blade than a regular Santoku, allowing them to be used with both the rocking/sawing motion of a Chef's knife, and the chopper work of a Santoku. The Füri RR 5" East/West Coppertial Knife is intentionally light and comes with all the world-acclaimed Füri-pro features: hygiene, durability, comfort, and sharpen-ability. Rachael says "I love the sharpness and scalloped edge of a Santoku blade- its the best blade available for slicing through a tomato. However, a traditional Santoku knife has a very straight edge, which makes it difficult to se in a rocking & sliding motion, as with most traditional chef's knives. The Füri RR features both a sharp, scalloped Santoku blade...and a rounded edge. So I can still slice through a tomato easily.... and can julienne through a bushel full of carrots in no time at all!"

Customer Reviews

The balance and weight are good and it is really sharp.

I received this knife for Christmas last year and loved it, but about a month ago (after just 10 months of use), there is a crack in the blade.

Thin slices of tomatoes, onions, whatever are no hassle with this knife.

This knife is a most valued asset to any cooks collections. I normally try all of Rachel Ray's products, and this one meets with high marks. Its sharp edge and petite handle make it a prefect tool for someone with a small hand. I love it!@!!

I absolutely love this knife. I have small hands and this fits perfectly. No more slipping. Thin slices of tomatoes, onions, whatever are no hassle with this knife. I highly recommend this knife.

I bought this knife for my husband for Christmas. We've had another santoku knife for awhile and use it all the time. This 5" size is a perfect size for a lot of kitchen tasks. We like this knife a lot because of the scallops. The scallops helps avoid some things sticking to the knife as you are slicing. I do wish it would come with a knife guard.

I like this knife. It is very sharp and cuts thru vegetables easily. I find that the 5 inch blade is too short for some slicing jobs, such as cutting large onions or potatoes, but still gets the job done.

I received this knife for Christmas last year and loved it, but about a month ago (after just 10 months of use), there is a crack in the blade. I have no idea how it happened. I hand-wash all of my knives, so it did not go through the dishwasher. I only use it to cut vegetables and fruits. I didn't drop it and I am the only one who uses it. I have owned a lot of knives, but I've never had one crack in the blade. I will buy a Henckels or Wusthof to replace it.

I already owned an 8 inch Furi Coppertail so I decided to purchase the 5 inch for smaller jobs. I am very happy with the 5 inch. It's light, fits in my hand and does an excellent job.

I purchased this knife, along with its 7" sister, as a gift for my wife, who was taken by the santoku knife craze. It works well, sharpens easily, but does not hold its edge any longer than other knives in our kitchen. Maybe that shouldn't concern or surprise me, but considering that Furi charges a premium price for this knife, I would expect exemplary performance, not average. Nevertheless, it is a functional knife that we both use regularly... after sharpening.

I purchased this knife a month ago for use when the large Henckels santoku was too much and the utility knife not appropriate for the task. I really like this knife. The balance and weight are good and it is really sharp. I would recommend to a friend. I do alot of chopping and cooking so, so far so good for this knife.
