Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The neon-orange handles on Gusto-Grip cutlery practically glow with the kinetic energy of television chef and talk show personality, Rachael Ray. Produced by the Australian firm Füritechnics, the high-end knives meet Ray's personal specifications: light in weight, very sharp, super-grippy handles. And, no surprise, orange is her favorite color. A snappy gift for an aspiring chef, this set consists of a slender birch-wood block and these nine Gusto Grip knives and utensils: 3-1/2-inch paring knife, 5-inch boning knife, 6-inch serrated utility knife, 7-inch East/West knife, 8-inch bread knife, 8-inch cook's knife, 8-inch carving knife, carving fork, and a pair of heavy-duty poultry shears.

Strong without being heavy, each Füri Rachael Ray Gusto Grip knife is constructed from a single piece of superior German CrMoV stainless-steel alloy, with a forged bolster and strong tang. Molded around the tang is an inner core of durable polypropylene and an outer layer of synthetic rubber for all-day, non-slip comfort. One new feature is the anti-microbial agent permanently infused into the polypropylene. The handles feature the patented Füri reverse-wedge shape that prevents the hand from sliding toward the sharp blade even when wet. At the tail, a stainless-steel counterweight provides perfect balance. Füritechnics recommends washing the knives by hand and sharpening them periodically with the company's own Diamond Fingers system. The set measures approximately 13 by 2-3/4 by 12-1/4 inches, and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. --Ann Bieri

4.0 out of 5 stars Birchwood Block is Atrocious!, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Rachael Ray Furi FUR865 Furi Gusto-Grip Bamboo Block 10-Piece Knife Set (Kitchen)
The knives are wonderful but the wooden block is very unstable to the point of being dangerous since it holds razor sharp knives!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rachael Ray Furi FUR865 Furi Gusto-Grip Bamboo Block 10-Piece Knife Set (Kitchen)
These knives are great! Although my wife has bought what she has thought were good knives over the years, they were not nearly as good as these. They are sharp, well-balanced, and have good, grippable handles. And did I mention that they are sharp? Even the scissor-type cutters work very well.

What prompted me to buy these for my wife was a visit from a knife salesman. A friend talked us into letting her daughter's boyfriend come and do a demo of Cutco knives. Cutco makes what looks like the world's best knife, but they are not cheap. My wife picked out two items for $240, delivered. That led me to look on Amazon (the only place we shop) for Rachel Ray knives. My wife has many of Rachel's products, and she loves them. I looked at all of the cutlery offerings on Amazon and decided that his set would be good. These were delivered several days before the two Cutco knives.

At more than TEN TIMES the price, the Cutco knives have a lifetime guarantee and can be put into the dishwasher. Otherwise, you'd be hard-pressed to choose between them and the Rachel Ray.

If you are looking for a set of top-quality knives, look no further.

1.0 out of 5 stars I am just heartbroken...., August 16, 2011
This review is from: Rachael Ray Furi FUR865 Furi Gusto-Grip Bamboo Block 10-Piece Knife Set (Kitchen)
I have been using RR knives for over 2 years, and I loved them until yesterday. I was cutting up an apple...and the handle literally broke in two...with just the outside rubber part holding it together. Now I am afraid to use the other ones. I really, really, really liked these knives. So disappointed! If you have some, be careful, please.
