Strong without being heavy, each Füri Rachael Ray Gusto Grip knife is constructed from a single piece of superior German CrMoV stainless-steel alloy, with a forged bolster and strong tang. Molded around the tang is an inner core of durable polypropylene and an outer layer of synthetic rubber for all-day, non-slip comfort. One new feature is the anti-microbial agent permanently infused into the polypropylene. The handles feature the patented Füri reverse-wedge shape that prevents the hand from sliding toward the sharp blade even when wet. At the tail, a stainless-steel counterweight provides perfect balance. Füritechnics recommends washing the knives by hand and sharpening them periodically with the company's own Diamond Fingers system. The handle is pressed into the thick tang and then a stainless steel counterweight is pressed into the tail for perfect balance.
