Furi Rachael Ray Gusto-Grip 8-Inch Forged Chef's Rocker Knife, Black

I own most everything in the Rachael Ray line of cookware, bakeware, and cutlery. I bought this knife last week and while its a great knife...there's NO cover for it??? I called Furi 877-567-9440 and they say, "Yeah right now, unfortunately the only way to purchase this knife is by itself or with the cover." When I bought the knife I didn't realize there was an alternative. To the person above who "corrected" the error...how did you do that?

If you're going to buy this knife (and you should), make sure you have a plan for storing it. I already own a Rachael Ray 10-piece knife set which came with a knife block. Since I prefer not tossing my expensive knives in a drawer...I guess I'm either going to have to purchase a knife block for ONE knife or wait until Furi figures out they need to sell the covers separately too. Or at least Amazon updates the item description making it clear that this sells with NO cover.

I received this knife as a Christmas gift, and I love it! First, I love how heavy this knife is. When you have a knife like this, that's nice and heavy, it does all the work, and all you have to do it lower it. I also love the "sure" grip handle. I've been cut on other knifes without this kind of handle like this one. This handle will not slip out of your hands, even when your hands are wet. I l also love the shape of the knife. When I use it, my hands are protected from the blade. It has an easy and natural cutting motion.

I love to cook, and have had a lot of knives, but nothing comes close to this. I honestly can't say enough good things about this knife. If you know someone that loves to cook, then this is a knife for them. Don't go for a cheap knife. After all, you get what you pay for.

You can't miss with this knife! If you get it, I can promise you won't be sorry, I know I'm not.

This is my first Amazon product review. I wouldn't normally do this, but I just had to comment on this knife. I've owned and used Furi knives for several years, both professionaly and at home. The quality I normally associate with the Furi brand and the low price listed by Amazon got me to purchase this knife. My first disappointment was having to remove the "Made in China" sticker before washing it. The blade came unevenly hollow-ground and was not very sharp. All my other Furis were made in Germany and came precision-ground and razor sharp. The handle is covered in the same stuff that the Rachel Ray series gets, but this one looks and feels more like a Henckels knock-off even though it's stamped "Furi." I got this knife real cheap, so I'll keep it, but it will have to get a $25.00 professional tune-up before it's up to snuff. Furthermore, the rocking motion that a mezzaluna style of blade is known for cannot be easily performed. My 10" Furi chef's knife has more curve than this knife does. Bottom line: Buy a REAL Furi, not a knock-off.

I have had this knife one day and I totally love it. It fits in my hand so well because of the way the blade is notched at the handle, I feel like I have total control of the knife. The blade is super sharp. I've used it to dice vegetables and cut up a roast to make stew. I even used it to cut up chocolate bars to use in my baking yesterday. And, it worked great for all of it.
I've never had a knife like this before, usually I just buy the cheap ones and then get so frustrated when they aren't sharp enough after awhile. I've read many good reviews of the products that Rachel Ray has put her name on so I'm happy that I spent a few extra bucks on this, and hope to get a lot of good use from it in the years to come.

Okay, the handle makes this knife even more amazing than just the knife itself! First of all, the knife matches the Rachael Ray cookware set I bought. Also, the rubbery handle keeps the knife from slipping, in case you are blood sensitive (or are a tad on the clutsy side). Be sure and warn your children not to ever touch the bottom of the knife as it is extremely sharp. I have found I love chopping just for the heck of it since I received this knife. I am the most excellent sioux chef to my daughter because I am a willing chopper in her kitchen! The only regret is in not having bought the knife holder and sharpener that is an optional purchase instead of just the solo knife. But I have since corrected this error and purchased that too! seems to be an excellent product so far. had it for 6 weeks and use it everyday. still sharp, well balanced. time will be the true test. it's my favorite knife and I have several expensive blades that I don' use anymore

These knives are soom of the sharpest I've ever used. The grip is very comfortable. Also they are balanced perfect.

I love the chef's rocker knife but it really should come with a protective cover or sheath as it was very sharp. I use it only on a cutting board, but it is not AS sharp any longer and I'd have thought for the cost of the knife that it would stay sharper longer. I DO love the knife as it makes chopping and dicing way easy. If Rachael Ray came out with a smaller version of this knife I would buy it.

I have a few RR knives. Not the pinnacle of quality, but certainly well made, comfortable and functional. When this little beauty pooped up in the Gold Box, I grabbed one.

Turns out it has many useful features and other than its largish size for an 8" knife, it works well.

I use it frequently for slicing pizza. But works great for peeling and chopping veggies and other cooking chores.

Its uniqueness also make for a great gift for a cooking friend. My only disappointment is it didn't come in a nice bamboo box other RR knives have been packed in.

This purchase is worth keeping.

I was surprised that this knife delivered as promised for such a bargain price. I have used it daily since receiving it and have not yet had to sharpen it. I hope that continues.
