I had one of these knives that I won in a set from a "Got Milk" campaign several years ago. They were made for a different Chef though, not Rachael Ray. The set I have is one of the best sets of knives I have ever owned. After 4 years of daily use my 5 inch knife actually lost the covering from the handle, which revealed a harder plastic handle underneath. So although my knife did fall apart, more than likely it was my own doing, as I soak my dishes in water before I wash them by hand. If you have a dishwasher or don't let these knives "soak" they would probably last indefinitely. The blade has stayed sharp the entire 4 years!

The knife developed deep and permanent rust mark after first wash. The rust along the cutting edge is deep. It will not be possible to remove with polishing paste. This knife is not made of 316 SS. I doubt it meets specifications for 304 SS. The knife is ticker than I need it to be to cut vegetables and fruits. Sure - it is cheap. But, it is not very useful to me.

We got the Rachel Ray Knife Set for a gift. We love the sharpness and handle grip. When it came to this utility knife we have tried it on everything we cut to find a use for it. None. It states for tomatoes, but I disagree. It will not cut one straight. It will always leave your tomato angled when you finish. I would leave this knife out of the set and add a different knife.
