Zero Grain Turkey & Potato Recipe
Rachael Ray Nutrish Zero Grain

Turkey & Potato Recipe

Working with a team of pet nutrition experts, Rachael Ray created a pet food made with simple, natural ingredients that doesn't contain any grains, glutens or fillers. Farm-raised turkey is always the number one ingredient, combined with wholesome vegetables. And it's available where you currently shop for your family's groceries.

Available in 6 and 14 lb. bags.

U. S. farm-raised turkey is the #1 ingredient. Zero grains, glutens or fillers. Zero poultry by-product meal. No artificial flavors, colors or artificial preservatives.

Ingredients
  • Real Turkey, raised on U.S. farms, is always the first ingredient. It's a lean, easily-digestible protein that's not often used in dog food, which may make it less likely to aggravate food sensitivities.
  • Turkey Meal, the second ingredient, provides essential amino acids and B vitamins to help maintain lean muscle and healthy organs. Turkey Meal is also a natural source of Glucosamine and Chondroitin to help support joint health.
  • Whole Potatoes, Peas, & Tapioca are easily-digestible alternative carbohydrates. These veggies & starches have been carefully chosen because they're naturally gluten-free and gentle on the digestive system.
  • Beet Pulp is a wholesome fiber source that naturally provides prebiotics to help maintain digestive health.
  • Whole Flaxseed & Poultry Fat are naturally rich sources of Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, which help support healthy skin and coat.

It's a 4 star food according to dogfoodadvisor.com, and it's reasonable price if you buy at Walmart . I can't believe amazon charges this twice more than Walmart does. It is only $22 plus tax at local grocery stores.
Anyway, back to reviewing the food, I've been feeding my dogs grain free food (taste of wild, hi-tek, and wellness core grain free), but i couldn't justify paying $56 for a dog food (i would feed Wellness product to my dogs if i have money, but right now, I'm suffering from serious financial difficulties.) so i decided to try this, and so far I'm happy with this food. My lab has an extremely sensitive stomach, and so far no loose stools, nasty gas, or anything. Kibble sizes are similar to Wellness grain free food, and they are perfect for medium or large sized dogs. (Although the kibbles are a bit big for my 15 lb dog, but he likes to eat them.)
Price wise, this isn't cheaper comparing to Taste of wild product ( $1.56 per lb vs.$1.60,) but you can buy this at local grocery stores.
To sum up, I recommend this product who like to try grain free food that are easily accessible.

Update 05/15/14
I have noticed the price of this food is $22 for 14lb now. Well, I reviewed this when the price was $40 ish for $14 lb. So.. please ignore my complaint since Amazon sells this for $22.
It is still a 4 star dog food according to dogfoodadvisor and no recalls so far!!!! :)

This dog food saved my schnauzer's life. She lived in constant pain. Her ears were always infected. Vet bills and meds about $150 monthly, decided to put her down. Started searching for help, Rachael Ray Zero saved her life. No more ear problems.

I switched today from pedigree to this amazing food. I was concerned about all that trash that the big companies put actually in the dog food so I went to Walmart and I looked if I could see something without grain and I found this, and I have to say my dog absolutely loved it I did not have to do the gradual switch in between the foods I just put the new food in his plate and he literally drank this food. I'm so glad I found the price of walmart very cheap in comparison to Amazon.

I switched to grain free because my dog was beginning to show signs of being allergic to it. She began itching constantly...so hard she would make herself bleed. She has been eating this food for about 6 weeks now and I am already seeing signs of improvement, she loves the taste too! I would definitely recommend this dog food to ANYONE!

We just moved back to the USA from Germany where we added an Old English Bulldog to our Family. There we were feeding him Royal Canin, very pricey but high quality food. Before heading out to buy food for him I search for reviews for dog food online so I already knew which ones I should rather not buy. Still Wandering through Pets Markt and Walmart and finding the right food for his very sensitive stomach was not easy and than I picked out Zero Grain after looking around for hours just because I heard a few times already that dogs should not eat grain. I thought give it a try, it was a reasonable price (way cheaper than in Germany) and we shall see. I can tell you our Bulldog has now such silk shiny fur, no more loose stool, no more disgusting farts and really really digs in. I can highly recommend this food!!

This is the best dog food EVER! I have a golden retriever and at less than 2 years old he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. He could barely get from his pillow to the food dish. It was incredibly sad to watch. The vet recommended a prescription diet using Science Diet, my dog hated it and was losing weight because he wouldn't eat it, From there I tried Blue Buffalo and that seemed to help, but his stools were so runny and he really didn't seem to like it either. When Rachael Ray's dog food hit the shelves offering "Zero Grain" and the glucosmine chondroitin , I had to try it. OMG! I can't believe the difference in my dog. He will turn 2 in December and is running, jumping, and playing like a pup a should. His coat is beautiful and he absolutely loves the taste of this dog food.

Apparently I am not the only one that loves this product. The stores cannot keep it on their shelves. In order to insure that I can get it, I order it on line, 4 bags at a time. My dog Loves it and I love what it has done for him. Thank you Rachel Ray!

okay, so i feed a grain free diet to both of my dogs. i've been feeding Taste of the Wild for several years now and the dogs like it, not love it, but they do well on it.
i've been looking for something cheaper and was happy to find that Nutrish has come out with a grain free dry food. i decided to try a 6# bag from amazon. the price was more than i pay for TotW but i was curious. it came yesterday and both dogs scarfed down a cup each. no stomach upset this morning even though i know that it is better to introduce new food gradually. so that is the good news.
the bad news is that if i travelled 20 miles from my home, i could buy the same size bag for less than half of what amazon charges. apparently this food is either too new to be in all the stores or RR is purposely doling it out in small quantities for some unknown reason. i can't afford to pay amazon's price and i don't want to drive 20 miles to the only Wal-Mart that carries it, so this leaves me in a quandary.
i can't really say where i'll go from here. Wellness has come out with Simple grain free that sounds comparable and they offer W. Core grain free also.
i'm a huge amazon fan and always until now have found everything cheaper here. i don't understand why this particular food would be so much pricier through them. i would order a bag a month if i could get it for around the same price that Wal-Mart offers it for.
