Great set, just needs a big pan to complete it!,

I just received this set for Christmas and I love it! I too was nervous about switching from non-stick, but it hasn't been too bad. Just make sure you spray with non-stick before making hashbrowns!! LOL The set is beautiful and functional. LOVELOVELOVE the glass lids and grippy handles. The only thing it needs is a larger pan as the two provided are fairly small. I went ahead and bought Rachael Ray 5 Quart Hard Anodized Orange Oval Saute Pan with Helper Handle to complete the set.

I'm an experienced cook, and I'm also something of a foodie (try my green peppercorn duck - it holds up nicely against any high-end restaurant's version). And I know a good deal when I see one. But let's be frank: Not everything is always as it seems, right? Well, in this case, WRONG! The Rachael Ray 10-piece stainless steel cookware deal is *exactly* what it seems - and then some.
In my 45-plus years of cooking and entertaining, I've deliberately stayed away from cookware "sets." Every pot and pan I've purchased has had a purpose, and I've bought each piece in only the size and materials that work for me. However, I've now moved into a smallish apartment and I'm downsizing. With comparatively limited kitchen storage space, I wanted a set of cookware that would perform across all - or at least most - of my cooking needs: Not too many pans, not too few. I also knew it had to be stainless steel, it had to have aluminum cores (or at least bases), and I was hoping for at least a few glass lids. And I did NOT want to pay a fortune. Enter the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Stainless-Steel Cookware Set: Ten gorgeous, multifunctional, eminently practical pieces of well-constructed, heavy-duty stainless steel cookware. The thick, flat aluminum bases ensure even heating; the slight rounding of the interiors from base to side makes them work much like sauciers or chef's pans (*very* desirable!); the slightly flared but crisp edges allow pouring without dripping; the high-angled, silicone-padded handles are easy on the wrist and cool to the hand; the well-fitted lids close snugly for steaming or rest securely at a tilt for releasing steam; the lids for the saute pan and the Dutch oven also fit the 10-inch skillet, and the lid for the Rachael Ray Stainless Steel 3-qt. *Shallow* Saucepan (bought separately) also fits the 8-inch skillet...what more can I say? Well, I can say this, for those who find too many foods sticking to their stainless steel cookware: STOP SCORCHING YOUR FOOD! If you want to sear everything, buy a carbon steel wok; you'll never be happy with stainless steel. And for those who don't like hand-washing their cookware, go ahead and put it in the dishwasher: That won't actually damage the cookware (though you'll probably void its warrantee) - but *any* stainless steel cookware will eventually become dull and discolored from caustic dishwasher detergent. Is this set a deal, at $179.95? No, it's a STEAL. (Go ahead and price a few so-called "higher-end" sets: Comparable groupings cost as much as $1,000 - and pieces bought individually cost even more.) Rachael Ray knows her way around cookware, and she also knows her audience: people whose interest is in cookware that works, accessibly priced. Way to go, Rach!!!

I got this set for Christmas and was so excited. I did all my research and knew what I was getting into with Stainless Steel. I don't have any problems with clean up with this set, just soak it a little or wash immediately after cooking and no problems. It still looks beautiful today. However, like the others my small pot leaks at the rivets in the handles. Now unlike the others my set came with no "instructions" or information about the manufacturer. So I had to research with Amazon's help how to send it back for warranty coverage. Meyer Corporation is the name of the company who holds the warranty. Now I sent this back at /the end of Feb. and they were recieved on 2/24/09 and I have not heard from the company yet. I submitted a help ticket about this on Monday of this week, I was told within two days I would have a response. Today is Thursday and no response. I wish there was a way for Rachel to know what kind of Customer Service her fans were recieving for her manufacturers. Anyway, other than I am now down 1 pot I love this set. I wish I could have gotten satisfaction from the warranty dept. and then I wouldn't have a complaint.

Nice set for the price. I'm switching over from "non-stick" so I was a little hesitant about sticking & clean-up. But, it hasn't been bad at all. I did have to look up how to get the white spots out of the skillet (water & vinegar). I just wish there were larger pieces that matched this set!

I love this pan set! I wasn't sure if I would like cooking on stainless since I've only ever owned non-stick. The stainless pans are a little harder to clean, but they cook so much better than my old pans which didn't have the metal plate on the bottom. These pans are great to use on my ceramic cooktop which cycles on and off to maintain temperature. They really keep the pan temperature steady.

I purchased this set a year ago and haven't regretted it for a day. I love these pots and pans. Actually, I'm writing this review today because as I was cooking dinner, I found myself again thinking about how glad I was that I purchased these.
My main advice to those thinking about purchasing them would be to carefully consider what you are looking for in a cookware set. Think about what is most important to you, and purchase cookware that meets your priorities. My priorities in purchasing this set were as follows (in this order): 1) Stainless Steel. 2) Glass Lids. 3) At least two pans and three pots. 4) In the mid or low price range as compared to similar sets. If your priorities are similar, I'd highly recommend these! And one final note: Take careful notice that ease of cleanup was NOT a priority for me - though I will say that transitioning from non-stick to stainless steel was not as painful as I expected with regards to cleanup. A good soak in hot, soapy water and a gentle dish scrubber do wonders with minimal elbow grease.

I've used my set for about three months now and am very pleased. What I like most are the glass lids and cool-to-touch handles. I've had glass lids before but those handles are awesome.
I wouldn't call these stainless steel in that the inside are more of a brushed material and so cleaning is different. I did have one burned item in the pot (for three months use, one disaster is pretty good for me)! The burn cleaned very well but I did need to scour the inside to get the evidence of my lack of skill out of the crevices of the pot. It's not really hard to keep clean but does require a little bit of strength; and, for the record, I have arthritis and didn't find it too much to handle. I read a couple review of people complaining of leaking at the screws. I purposely boiled in each pot and personally haven't had that problem (thankfully!) so maybe their redesigned this aspect of it. All in all, I'm quite happy. They're pretty, useful and safe to use and clean. We don't need to use those non-stick pans anymore. They're bad for pets - especially birds. Better safe than heartbroken. I would definitely recommend this set. Great price too.

I am SO very glad I decided on these. We shopped for almost a year looking for a replacement for our cheaper stainless set. Given the price for quality cookware, I thought I would never be able to afford a new set. Boy, was I wrong!
I have had these for about 10 months now and have had ABSOLUTELY loved them. They cook evenly and are easy to clean. Every now and then, I have to give them a little scrub with an SOS pad/ steel wool to remove cooked-on grease. They wash quite well in the dishwasher. The silicone handles are still in new condition with no signs of wear.

I purchased this set from Amazon after looking them over at a local department store. They are top quality. The price was $10 cheaper on Amazon than they were at the store. I was apprehensive about using stainless steel instead of teflon but I really love it and know that it is much healthier for my family. I recently bought a canary and found out that teflon fumes will kill canaries almost immediately. My husband wondered if it would do that to a bird, what is it doing to us? My canary is safe and so is my family. The food doesn't stick like I thought it would. I usually use Pam to spray the pan first and use a lower temperature. I clean with "Bartenders Friend" Stainless Steel Cookware cleaning powder. It takes any discoloration off immediately. They shine like new. I love the pans. Thanks Rachel Ray!

Maybe ours was an isolated case and we got a defective unit; we sincerely hope so. It was fun taking the pots and pans out of the box; they were so beautiful and looked like works of art. We were aware that they were NOT non-stick and that they needed extra care in washing. We were willing to trade that off for the looks of the product. The problem arose when we started using it. Without a vent in the lid, moisture builds up and fogs up the glass. To check on your cooking, you would have to lift the lid and look inside. The second time we used the product, as rice was boiling inside, we hear a loud sound and find out that the glass lid has cracked in several places! Thank goodness for Amazon's great return policy or it would've been a complete waste of our hard-earned money.
