Rachel Eva was born in Southern California and grew up in San Diego, where she currently resides. She is the author of "Poetry Through A Dark Night," and co-author of "Furniture: Poems and Stories." She is a member of the Grey Pony Writer's Guild.
Rachel Eva is also an artist, and in 2007 established the artist group "Work of My Hands" with Shawn Michael. Work can be found on their website, www.workofmyhands.com.
Experiences that have influenced her writing include living in Pittsburgh and Denver, variations in environment and relational community, and working in fields as diverse as fine art and aviation risk management.
In 2005, she studied abroad on the MV Explorer while circumnavigating the globe. This trip, especially the near-capsize of their ship in the icy waters of the Pacific, continues to influence themes of travel and movement, and the concept of "home" in her writing.
