Book Description

This story is super short.
If you'd like it free, or would like more words for the buck, it'll be part of The Eclective's time Collection in August 2013.

It is not necessary to read this to be all caught up on Jonathan and Monica's story. It's simply a supplement.

Do people like you ever have wishes, Jonathan?

What does that mean? People like me, Rachel?

People who have everything. Was there ever something you wanted but could only wish for?

3.0 out of 5 stars Least Favorite in the Series March 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Rating: 3 Stars

Of all the books in the series, this was the one I was least impressed by. I was not a fan of jumping between the events. I found it a bit hard to keep up with. I felt like more details could have been given about the actual relationship between Rachel and Jonathan AND Rachel and Jonathan's father. I would have loved to hear the details of the argument between Rachel and Jonathan's dad. Rachel's home life, how they got together, etc. I just wanted more details.

Placing Monica and Gabby at Jessica and Jonathan's engagement party was a stretch for me. If this was the case (and we're keeping it a real story), I would have expected for someone to remember meeting at that party. Jonathan, Jonathan's Dad, Gabby (who should have remembered playing at Jonathan's house, since she researched him), a sister, Jessica. This was a big unnecessary flaw in the entire series. It should have been left my very humble opinion.

Nor relevant to enjoying the series. Read if it's free but really everything in here was covered in the other books.

Rachel, part 5.5 is two brief novellas that should be read after Burn. Told from Jonathan's POV it provides a rareglimpse into important and painful events in his past. We meet his first love, his wife and a mysterious brunette... It also provides some shocking revelations that likely will play out in the next-coming books. In my opinion, a must read to get the full experience of the series!

Hero: Jonathan Drazen/32 years/$$$$/hotelier - real estate magnate/auburn-red hair/green eyes/6'2"/art collector.
Seven words to describe Jonathan Drazen: Captivating, non-committal, broken, enigmatic, private, relentless and protective.

Hero rating: 5+ stars

Story ending rating: N/A
Book editing rating (5 = no edits spotted): 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Rachel (Songs of Submission #5.5) by CD Reiss September 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This series just really killing with the cliff hangers. I love it, I just can't wait for the next book. I love the small in between book's that gives you parts that could be left out. This series is so juicy, emotional I can't stop reading it once I start. The in between stories I find to be very important. Keep reading this series it so great!!

4.0 out of 5 stars More insight into Jonathan's psyche April 13, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
More insight into Jonathan's past is given in Rachel. This is short but it definitely clues you into what sent Jonathan on a tail spin. Some of this story is incorporated into Resist but to get the full picture of what happened during that time of his life you should read Rachel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb March 14, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a collision of music, art, BDSM, dominance, submission, possession, obsession, guilt, unresolved love, unforgettable sex and memorable characters.

CD Reiss masterfully weaves a plot full of mystery and suspense while giving us erotic love scenes to rival all best selling books in any genre.

I fell in love with Jonathan from the first. Just like Monica, this man was so real and mysterious that he immediately gripped my heart and did not let go. I adore Monica with her sarcastic view of life and quick wit. She is a survivor and fighter. She deserves to succeed. The way the story evolves, her path to success and a happy ending is not a given and is fraught with obstacles.

I became very emotional while reading this series. I have to admit that I experienced every emotion possible to a human being while I devoured these pages. At the end, I was sobbing relentlessly, unable to control myself. I had no clue how CD Reiss was going to end the series and I must tell you the ending will ... surprise you. I did not expect it after reading all the installments.

NO SPOILERS HERE! This is one of those series that any reader of romance and erotica must read. It is unique in the quality of the writing and its plot line. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a superb book and loves life.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Glimpse of the Past March 14, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
During his engagement party to Jessica, Jonathan is pushed into the hands of a hypnotist by four of his sisters. Their intentions are good. They only wished for him to relax and enjoy himself. Being around his father was difficult. It dragged to many bad memories. Memories of Rachel and the day she died. But as the man counted backwards from ten, memories that had been forgotten flooded his mind and what he remembered floored him. A new twist in our favorite characters' story also comes to light.
