The product arrived on time. The packaging is very cheap, but the product was in decent shape. My son and I went through 3 PX-16's, all with different defective issues. We chose this boat as the replacement. The boat has two slightly smaller motors, but do not overheat because of a fan set up where the motor attaches to the prop shaft. The product comes without the stickers attached, which is a plus becasue you can choose the ones you want and can actually put them on correctly. The antenna for the remote is hidden behind a piece of paper taped to the styrofoam in the box. Overall, the boat is great so far. Plenty of speed for a 10 year old and I have to admit that it has his father hooked on getting a brushless boat setup later on down the road. The battery included is not very good. I purchased an Amazon.com combo back that included 2 Tenergy 7.2V 3800MA batteries and a 2 hour charger (use the Tamiya connectors). In my opinion this purchase is a necessity so that you and your child can enjoy the boat. We get approximately 20 min of solid (good speed) run time per battery. After a 10 min cooldown for the motors and quick clean up of minimal water that gets inside, we pop in the other battery and go again. By the time we drain the second battery the first is almost charged up. The price on the combo charger is almost the price of the boat, but well worth it and can be used on other batteries. The boat handles well in the water with a fairly decent turning radius. The dual props create an impressive rooster tail and speed is impressive for its price. I wire tied the wiring to each motor to clean up the inside of the boat and this makes it easier to replace the battery.

I bought this RC boat for my 3 sons to play with at the lake for Christmas. The boat arrived exactly as described, and after a 5 hour initial battery charge, we headed down to the lake to try it out.

1st impressions in the water: Boat is very fast and easily maneuverable. Even my 3 year old was able to control the boat with some assistance. Note that this boat is of hobby grade quality, and designed for a fairly large open body of water like a pond or lake. If you want something for the pool, head to Target or Walmart.

I would say we're going to get alot of fun out of this boat, but as I would imagine is the case for all RC boats of this power, battery life is very, very short. We got about 15 minutes of full power, then the motors started winding down rather quickly. Having said that, for the price I feel that this toy is a good value and the majority of kids would be very surprised at how fast it is.

When I first put the boat in the water, it took off so fast I couldn't believe it! It shot up a rooster tail a couple of feet high and just flew across the water.

A lot of these reviews complain about the battery and the charger. I found a simple solution. The boat comes with a 1.7 amp-hour battery, which runs the boat for 15-20 minutes. I went to a battery shop, and for $24, had them build me a 3.8 amp-hour battery with the same voltage, exact same dimensions and same plug-in connection of the original! It fits perfectly in the same holder.

They knew exactly what kind of battery it was, they put a new one together, put some heat-shrink over it, and I was out the door! Now the boat runs a good 45 minutes on a charge! We love it!

We purchased it for X-Mas and it arrived on time. One part was missing, the straw pvc antenna, but we chose not to return it and tried using a coffee straw instead, which worked out great (we used blue tack to keep the straw in place but we are not sure the blue tack was needed). The other antenna, the rc antenna, was hard to find because it was hidden underneath the instructions and the instructions come glued to the styrofoam.
The instructions are really bad. For example, the instructions do not mention that the boat will only work when placed in the water, which is a nice safety feature when you know about it. My husband had to rearrange the wiring to make it easier to change the battery pack - it comes with the wires on top of the battery pack and the wires are very short, not practical at all.
We have a lake on the back of the house and it works great here. The propellers would make it a dangerous toy if people are swimming near it (not our case, we live in Florida, no swimming in the lakes unless you want to risk an alligator encounter).
The boat is fast and fun to use. It is a fun boat for beginners. It is too fast for our 4 year old but it is perfect for our 12 year old. It does not have a reverse mode. The instructions say the range is 40 meters and it's true, we think it might actually go a little further. The rc has a handle that is not sturdy and we don't think it will last.
The quality of the boat, overall, is not very good, it's cheap plastic, but you get what you pay for. We also got the 21" rc Police boat for our 4 year old and the overall quality of the plastic and the construction of the police boat is clearly better, but, as it is a boat for younger children, it's a lot slower and easier to maneuver than the 28" syma.
