This review is from: Racism@Work Among The LORD's People (Paperback)
Robert Upton's book, "Racism at Work among the Lord's people" is a creative lens in which to view the world around you, and in a greater degree, your own heart. It is a work that takes you on a journey of discovery, ever thought provoking, never preachy. Upton doesn't tell you what to do or what to think on your journey. He lets you discover it yourself. With penetrating questions, you are compelled to think of other's shortcomings, but are forced to behold yourself. "Racism at Work" has a very interesting format, where the author creates a canvas, and as an artist would, we paint our own unique story. Startling insight in the chapter "The Bible and racism". Obviously well thought out and researched, and extremely timely. with the ever increasing diversity of our communities we are faced with the opportunities, as well as challenges as these changes create. There are many good books on the subject, but very few place a mirror before you while you examine your own soul. It is more than a book, it is more like a tool to help repair the breach, and a key to help unlock the heart. I highly recommend it. |
