Legit is one of the best shows I have ever seen. Hilarious and very touching at the same time. It's dirty, so if you are the sensitive type about that sort of humor you may not like it, but it's very funny and actually very sweet and reminds you of what is important in life. All of the actors are really superb, but DJ Quails steals the show. Brilliant acting and writing. It definitely is not politically correct, and there is a lot of jokes about people with disabilities, but those people are treated with love and respect and to me, the jokes show that they are treating everyone equally and not actually discriminating with overly gentle treatment. Fantastic show.

I don't know who writes this, nor to what degree it mirrors the real life of Jim Jeffries, but no matter what the details are, this is comedy with balls and heart. Initially, I thought, "Are they going to spend a whole show making fun of caring for a disabled person?" And then they did. But it worked so well that I watched the whole first season pretty quickly on Netflix.

A few points of interest:

1. They have a recurring cast which includes actual disabled people who are very good actors with excellent comedic timing (pretty impressive).
2. They make you manage to care about people with serious personality failures, ranging from hoarding to alcoholism to sex addiction.
3. Nobody on the show, aside from the odd love interest for Jeffries (realistic because he plays a version of himself, a successful comedian) is attractive. I like that. I hate King of Queens because King of Queens would never have that house, wife, nor any of the possessions supposedly implied by that stupid, horrible series made for stupid people. Ditto Raymond, and most other terrible shows.
4. Nobody is particularly well off in the show, which, again, is realistic, and good.

This is what television can be when artists are given a little bit of leeway to make a good show rather than to sell shitty products. FX is a breath of fresh air. I credit Always Sunny and the HBO/AMC revolution for a lot of the great shows now being made, and this is one of the better ones of that new crop.

Riveting, occasionally sweet, and always funny, this show leaves you wanting more. The characters have a chance to develop more fully than in season 1, and the female characters become more complex. Jim Jefferies' accent is just the icing on the cake. There simply must be a season 3 of this show in the works.

Funny, witty, honest. Best show out there. Not sure why it isn't getting more hype. Some people might find themes and language offensive, adult content as rated.

They need to renew for season three. Season two has outperformed season 1, which must have been hard to do. Hilarious and nobody's safe.

I thoroughly enjoy twisted, dark comedies and it takes a whole lot to make me laugh or even crack a smile. Somehow Jim Jeffries gets it out of me! Not only does he have a perverted sense of humor but he takes comedy right to the edge of being offensive. The whole time your laughing your also thinking, I don't know if I should be amused or insulted. He takes you to that point, teetering on the brink, but always keeps you on the comedic/entertaining threshold. Its not so insulting coming from him. Its like being able to laugh about what most people would feel sorry about. Instead of showing pity he sheds laughter. He's definitely not afraid to make jokes about what society feels uncomfortable talking about. His honesty and brazeness is refreshing.

This show should be getting more buzz. It's dark yet really touching, which is a hard feat to achieve. It can make me laugh my ass off and tear up in the same episode. Funny, funny stuff.

Well written, great mix of characters, consistently funny. Can't praise this show enough! Season 2 gets a lot darker compared to season 1, and it really helps establish the strengths of the series and its unique tone. Reviewers always mention the surprising blend of dark comedy, raunchiness, and sentimentality, and this is exactly what will keep you glued to the screen. Even during comedic hijinks, there is a strong sense of realism with the character development and acting. It's a really funny and moving experience to travel through the lives of these characters. I was completely surprised by this show, and hopefully FX will give these guys a lot more seasons in the future.
