Roll returning,
By LyndaM.R. (Houston, TX USA) - See all my reviews

After reading R. Hanna's review, I did a little research into the product and contacted the Extrufix Corporation that makes the Rack Sack and the refills. The Customer service person I spoke to there said that the roll will be returning in November 2006. It will be unscented but have the handles that make the new design easier to hook the bag onto the rack. Both products will be available since it's about a 50/50 split between those who like the new bag and those who want the old design.

It's hard to tell from the product description, but these refills do not come in a roll like the old refills. They are individual bags with handles and they SMELL TERRIBLE, like a bad scented diaper pail liner.
Save your money and recycle old plastic shopping bags.

New bags are BAD,

Well, since it is after November when Lynda said the roll type bags were coming back, I contacted the mfr. They indicated that at this point, Publix Grocery and 1-888-contain are the only customers that are going to order them. I do NOT have a publix anywhere near me and I have e mailed the people at 1-888-contain and i don't yet have a reply. But they don't even have the rack sack on their web site so I don't know how good it is looking.
The rolls of bags won't be available until Jan 2007 (if you are lucky enough to find them) Diane I did hear back from The Container Store and they will be available at the end of December. They said I could order now and they will ship out when they become available. The Container Store 1-800-733-3532. Supposedly the product has a news name. Container Store claims it is Trashrac. Not sure how accurate this is though. It appears nobody knows what they arwe talking about. The product ame did NOT change as the person at the container store told me. It is still a rack sack made by CPI plastics. I just wish people in charge of giving information out to the public were better trained and knew what the heck the are talking about. Diane

The folded bags are a poor substitute,

I bought a box of sacks that I thought was the roll type, but they were actually the separate bags with the handles. These I do not like, and like the rest of you I cannot find the original type bags. The new bags with handles are a little larger and tend to fall out of the rack when half full because they don't have the anchor of being attached to the other bags. I hate it when you buy a product and they change horses in the middle of the stream.

I can't live with cats and without these bags!,

I've been using these bags for probably 10 years or so and they're the best out there. I use the 5 gallon rolls (stocked up on back when there was such a thing) to line a container to hold the "clumps" from my two cats' litter box. I can fill the bag with at least 8 lbs of litter and tie it and it won't break. R. Hanna, many thanks for the smell warning, or I would have bought lots of the new ones; and Lynda, more thanks for checking into the return of the rolls. I'll have to stretch out my few remaining bags until next month, or whenever we can get these again. Moxie58, it seems like we're all thinking of the same thing at the same time!

I'm not minding the lack of the roll; but I miss it. The handles are not so bad; somewhat helpful. But the scent! Discusting. Every time I open under the sink to dispose of trash or get a cleaning product my sinuses get attacked. Was the company bought by Al-Queda or the Taliban?

100 Rack Sack Refill Bags,
This review is from: Rack Sack Bags - Kitchen Refill 100 Count (Kitchen)
The Rack Sack garbage system is great. However, about two years ago they changed the way the bags are dispensed: from a continuous roll stored in the rack to individual bags pulled from a container stored somewhere else. Not nearly as convenient as the original product!

I don't understand some of the negative reviews about these refills. I tried several different refills, and I think these are the best!! The small box fits great in the cabinet under the kitchen sink, and they smell great. In addition, they don't keep falling out of the bottom of the storage unit like the rolls do! I just bought my 4th box of these and highly recommend them!

I appreciate that I can procure the Rack Sack refill bags through Amazon. We used to buy them at Bed Bath and Beyond and they no longer carry them. Thank you.
