Easy to install and works great,

This review is from: Racor IMH-2R Interchange Walldock Multi-Use Rack (Tools & Home Improvement)
The rack takes about 5 minutes to install and that was for two of them that I wanted to use to hang a 20 foot extension ladder in my garage. The hardest part was just picking a spot and levelling up the two racks. The rack is held in place by Racor's unique system that uses a clip that is screwed into the wall. Then the hook itself just snaps onto this clip. While at first I was a bit skeptical that the clip would be sufficient to hold any weight, my ladder is about 50 lbs and its been doing just fine for weeks now. I recommend this product as it is both simple and is one of only decent looking racks that I've been able to find.

The other reviewer is correct that it is easy to install. It comes with two screws, two pieces of plastic, and the rack itself. At first, I thought the instructions were missing. I looked at the picture to make sure the red tab points downward. The directions are on the side of the box. It comes with two long screws. I actually used my own anchor and screws, since this doesn't come with anchors. I, too, was skeptical about how much weight it could hold. It was good enough for our 17 pound Bugaboo stroller.
There is no indication on the box about the maximum weight it can hold. I wouldn't test it to its limit. The rack does wiggle a bit when attached to the plastic part. I wish it attached on more securely. The rack itself is pretty well-made. It's the plastic that it snaps onto which I worry about giving if too much weight/stress is put on it. Once again, it would be nice if they did some quality control test and found out. I'm happy with it because now our stroller is hung up and out of the way in our little NYC apartment!

A good idea, but not implemented quite right,

2 and a half stars really. The bracket is easy to install, but my disappointment is the same as other reviewers have mentioned. Namely, no matter how securely the plastic block is attached to the wall - and they provide good size screws, the metal bracket wobbles and is not held securely onto the plastic mounting block. The metal bracket is solid enough. I got mine to hang a ladder in the garage. This is not a cheap or badly made product, but the design is slightly off trying to hold the metal bracket on the wall fixing with a flimsy plastic 'spring clip'. The spring clip is not really load bearing, but it stops the bracket coming off the plastic mounting block.) It probably will work because the metal bracket sits on a solid sloping surface, sort of like a coat hook. Any weight forces the metal bracket closer to the wall. But it is wobbly when not under load. Read the other reviews to complete the picture.

This product is a lawsuit waiting to happen,

This review is from: Racor IMH-2R Interchange Walldock Multi-Use Rack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I ordered this product as I needed a simple multi-use rack for storing something in my garage. At the time I placed my order I did not notice that it used the interchange dock system. The interchange dock system is a flimsy piece of plastic that mounts to a stud. There is another (even flimsier) piece of plastic that has a tab, a plastic "spring" and a red button that can be slid down to release the tab and allow the rack to separate from the dock.
This is an accident (and possibly lawsuit) waiting to happen. The red plastic button requires very little force to pull down and I could easily see this being something a child would want to do, resulting in a large and heavy object (plus the rack) coming off the wall and injuring them or someone else. The other issue I have is that the latching mechanism itself looks very cheap and frail. I would be concerned that after repeated stress the low quality plastic could eventually fail, resulting in someone being injured, a vehicle being damaged by a falling object, etc. It doesn't help that there is a lot of play between the dock and the rack when properly installed. This play could lead to a stress fracture over time resulting in this product failing. If Racor really cared they would offer a way to "lock out" the tab so it could not be accidentally released, as well as making the materials out of something sturdier like steel. That might add a dollar or two to the price but would make it less likely that someone would be hurt by this cheaply produced (in China of course) piece of equipment.

I needed an item to hang my ladder on the garage wall. And this was perfect for it. Like one of reviewers pointed out - I was little skeptical about the multipurpose plastic wall dock arrangement, which supposedly hold a variety of such racks or hooks. But it turned out fine - I have been using for close to 3 months now, without any problems. It is very easy to set up. The product comes with 2 2" screws, 2 pieces of plastic dock and the rack. The bottom piece of the plastic dock is screwed to the wall. The top piece snaps onto the bottom plate and the Rack sits on this dock arrangement. There is only one thing to keep in mind. If you are planning on screwing the dock to a wall stud, make sure you drill a hole on the wall stud first. I did not do it for the first screw and my power tool ended up damaging it when it was half way in (The hardware was not that great). Good that I had a homedepot close by. Other than that - It was an easy setup and overall the product is of great utility.

Doesn't sit flush with the wall,

While the rack does seem quite sturdy, it wobbles quite a bit when there's nothing on it. It just doesn't sit flush with the wall. I will probably shimmy something behind it to keep it from moving if it gets worse.
